Hey guys been following this site for awhile. Picked up a 2019 trd off-road a couple weeks back. So here’s my story. There is a fella selling some fuel Mavericks (17x9 with 5.5” BS), he currently has 265/70/17 tires on them. He wants 500$ for the setup. I am getting ready to do the EIBACH 2” pro truck lift. And eventually some 285/70/17 tires. My question is will the 5.5” BS give me hassles with the tires he has now AND the anticipated future MT tires? If anyone has a similar setup I’d love to see it! Thanks guys and gals!

I am confused by the 18x9 measurement and you say he has 265/70/17's. If the tires are 265 70/17's then the wheel is a 17" wheel. The back spacing should be ok, but the tire may rub on the UCA.

5.5" is too much backspace for what you want to do.

I'm also only seeing 4.5"(-12mm offset) and 4.79"(+20 mm offset) backspace available in that model.

Either would be fine with 265s.

4.5" backspace is what you want for 285s.

4.79" backspace would put your tire almost 1/4" closer and your rim a little over 3/4" closer to your stock suspenion with 285s.

It’s for sure got a 5.5 BS. He sent me a pic of it. If you look under fuel spec look at the black and milled model. But noted that 4.5 is what I want. TECHNICALLY I could put a 1” to 1-1/4” wheel spacer to imitate a 4.5” BS?

    Ah...ok.
I'm seeing it now; with a +14mm offset.
Yes, a 1" spacer will get you to 4.5" backspace.
