Installed new tires and wheels today without TPMS. When I started the car I fully expected the TPMS light to turn on but to my surprise, it didn't turn on. I wonder if the PO disabled it somehow, anyways....cool story bro I know.

    Check for a bomb!

Lots of guys will build a PVC pipe canister and seal the TPMS sensors in the canister. They pressurize the caniser and hide it somewhere on the truck. The TPMS ECU doesn't know the sensors are not in the tires.

Do you have the tires with the TPMS in the garage near the truck . If so , you are good for about 20 miles before the light comes on

^^this. I swapped wheels and kept the sensors in my other wheels in the garage. Light stayed off most of the way to work (work is about 25 miles away). As long as I parked next to it every night, the light pretty much stayed off.

It is definitely NOT a nuisance.

My TPMS saved my ass one day - I was able to get off the highway and get myself into a parking lot before the tire went completely flat.

I think you are right, my drive to work is about 3 miles. I will see this weekend when I head over to Seattle if the light comes on. I was thinking about selling my stock wheels and tires but I may just keep them in my garage to avoid the light haha.
