"THE ORIGINAL" 2023 TACOMA TRD PRO COLOR "SOLAR OCTANE" THREAD

Picked mine up Dec.22nd. Couldn't be happier.




Traded my 2019 Tacoma Off Road in.

 

Barcelona Red was a nice color on the Pro too.

 

Did they give u a good price for the 2019?

 

At least get rid of the TUNDRA picture pretty please! Or maybe find another on the web that’s in focus!

 

I got 32K for my truck. Carvana was offering 29K and Carmax was offering 30K. So the dealer gave me the best price.

Made a quick stop for some foggy pics while running an errand.

 

Gorgeous! I got some foggy pics at dawn on Tuesday. Was regular grey fog, then for about 3 minutes the sun did this before going back to regular grey. Frosty fog with a complimentary color.

 

This color looks wildly different depending on lighting. Same camera, nikon not a phone. And yes I put the badges on

 

You forgot to turn on the fogs.

 

I snapped this today, grabbing a quick beer at local brewer.

 

I love my army green but damn this colors making me jealous. I still haven’t seen one in person and I can’t wait. Looks amazing!

 

Just picked it up! It looks awesome when it’s orange in low light but every so often it looks candy apple red like it does in most pics and I think it looks hideous haha. the paint seems more brittle than other colors as well. I found quite a few rock chips that likely occurred on the transport semi. It’s also no thicker than the other metallic paints…between 3.5-4mils. Windchill Pearl was much thicker…why the premium paint charge?!

Maybe it’ll grow on me but I think MGM or Electric Lime are cooler colors for the Pro.

 

Has anyone tried to paint match the solar octane color? I have a deposit down on a 2023 pro (not sure which color ill get) and plan to put a cap/camper shell on it. Wondering if the paint match will be tough with this color.

 

With the paint code it shouldn't be any harder to match than any other pearl paint.

I got a bottle of touch up paint from a local body shop and they said it wasn’t a Pearl surprisingly, they don’t mix pearls for touch up paint so they wouldn’t have been able to if it was. They showed me the “ingredients” and there was just a tiny part of gold Pearl flake or something. I’ll see if I can find the mixing instructions they gave me.

Anyways the touch up paint matched perfectly, more so than any touch up paint I’ve used on MGM, Midnight black or lunar rock.

 

Not a red color person or orange for cars Ave trucks but this is growing on me.
