Picked up my Pro today, trading in the '17 Inferno Offroad. Here are a couple of shots to illustrate Inferno vs Solar Octane.

Only had 36,000 miles on it. (Not my daily driver)Have a Subaru for running all over the state for work. Love having the Tacoma for all other non-work driving. Only issue I ever had was the power steering pump started leaking around the shaft seal. Replaced under warranty. Still had the original battery when I traded it in.

A little over a week with this beauty. I love how different it looks in varying light. Also just happy to have a loud color in a sea of grays, blacks, and whites.

Need to get it PPF’d or ceramic coated to preserve the color for as long as possible. But damn, it’s expensive. Have a tonneau cover and two convertible car seats I need to procure before I consider any detailing. Anyone gone that route yet with theirs?

Also, support your local record store.

    Stock so far, lol!
Well, I pulled the trigger this weekend and joined the Solar Octane club. It was a little emotional saying goodbye to Calvary Blue, lol! But I am definitely happy with the decision.TRD.jpg

I also came over from Cavalry Blue, but in a Tundra. I know the feeling, because it's a great color, but Solar Octane makes me smile just as much.

They gave me good money on the 19’. Almost what I paid for it and the Pro didn’t have the almost 10k “market adjustment” some dealers wanted.

Have you called all the dealers that show an allocation through Toyota’s site? Not sure where in OR you are but I thought I saw a few that didn’t say sales pending. Granted you need to call and ask if they sell at msrp or they’re not already claimed.

Ugh, sorry. That’s why I ended up 900 miles away in SF. I’m in the Seattle area and at the time nobody had manual allocations even on their radar minus I think two that were already sold.

Best of luck! It’s worth it IMO, I was ready to just get a MGM OR (OR MT were nearly as hard to find as the Pro) but as someone who really doesn’t plan on doing any mods except getting a camper topper and doing some minor overlanding, the Pro is perfect as is for me. Plus Solar Octane is beautiful in person!

Put the bed rack on today. Next up the sliders and skid plates.

Sliders reinstalled onto Solaris. Now just the skid plates.

Any Solar Octane owners throw a canopy/topper/cap on yet? Really want a camper topper like a Topo Topper or Oru Topper, but also considering something like the GFC cap. Though someone has a silver Snugtop Rebel for $2500 locally. If it was black I think I’d actually consider but the silver don’t think would match too well…

G2.M6 Which sliders did you go with....Do you have a build thread....? I'd like to see more photos of the sliders from the side. Does yours still have stock suspension....?

Well, I “did a thing”. Had to drive a bit to get to each one but found a new M/T Pro and an A/T Pro and was able to drive them both. I previously had a 2021 M/T DCSB OR w TRD lift, T4R wheels, Wildpeaks and tons of fun mods but had sold it private sale in November for just a squeak shy of enough to buy a Pro, but was thinking about just driving my older Chev instead. Though I really LIKED the M/T - I didn’t LOVE it and it wasn’t what I wanted for my driving and towing needs. Solar Octane was what got me thinking as I really liked the previous orange, but since I managed a Chev dealership the owner wouldn’t sell me one at his Toyota store at any price. Once I retired we have become a Toyota family.
Was able to purchase this one locally at MSRP no ADM or games, and no funky/cheesy BS forced add ons. Here’s the old and the new: 3CA2596D-B566-4C02-8038-4B2AB504A066.jpg 1D952266-372E-4485-B6E3-C6763D770F2D.jpg It came with a few port adds - tailgate lock, tailgate letters, extra D rings, TRD air filter, splash guards, and I convinced them not to drill the holes for the front license mount (Oregon is a 2 plate state) and will do my own no drill mount. So far added an OEM bed mat, LED Dynamics 6000k’s where they should have been OEM, OEM front rail for my mountain bike mount, Redarc TowPro and OEM sill protectors and I’m close to done. Found some mint Predator steps on CL for $100 so the Mrs will be able to ride along when she wants. So far, only 14 miles on it but I really DO like it, especially the color. I think it’s a good upgrade from the ‘21 :)
