Their is a plastic piece that says "tacoma" that covers the entire length of that photo. It's to prevent shoes and shit from scratching the paint. I'd say 90 % off all sports and off roads come standard with them. I never imagined a PRO could come without them. It's an easy factory, port, or dealer add on.

The safe is an interesting add. It completely destroyed the limited capacity of the already shitty arm rest storage space. But in an odd turn of events, this weekend my wife was checking it out. We share a birth year so it's 4 digit lock is set. She got really excited opening it with her birthdate... completely unplanned.. then she looks over and says. . I shit you not...

you need to go buy a small handgun magnet system to keep a gun in the truck....

I almost drove directly tovtge gun shop...

    True story

Did some white knuckle winter driving today. No problem. I killed it on the gas mileage.

The sill protectors are on so many TRD OR’s and Sports likely as it is profitable for the distributor first, and the dealer second. The cost alone is $79 as a port installed option, at least here in the PNW region but typically is found (around here anyhow) installed as the All Weather Mats / Sill Protectors package @ $258. This may be why they don’t get installed on Pro’s - as much since they all come with their own specific all weather mats. I purchased my set of 4 for $31 and change, but was somewhat surprised to see they are actually just a thick tape kind of arrangement, you have to take off the plastic sill plates and take loose the weatherstripping when installing (at over 65 degrees - which won’t happen for a while around here!)

    Stock so far, lol!
Had the KD Max 9.0 tune installed Saturday by Rich @Stormpeacock and it is a game changer on these trucks. i also ran the kd max tune on my previous TRD OR so I knew how good it was but when I drove off the lot in the Pro, I instantly realized it needed the tune. Thanks to @Stormpeacock, @PapaRee and @TWTaco respectively for installing and developing these options to make our trucks perform better!

Do you have any dyno charts or experiences you can share? I see tons of endorsements for tunes, but I struggle to find anything really concrete or measurable to look at.

i am sure you can get all of the nuts and bolts info from the KD max thread or reach out to @PapaRee or @TWTaco. It eliminates the gear hunting at higher speeds and the throttle response is amazing as well.

experience wise, I have multiple versions /updates on my 2019 TRD OR with zero complaints or issue. Ran it for 3 years.

Did you have the gear hunting issue in the new truck? I've yet to experience anytime unless I put it into S mode and put it to 6th. If I leave it in Drive it performs like any other automatic I've had in the past, and that works for me, because I will only be using S mode if I plan to be down in 4th or lower anyway.

yes. It would hold gears way too long on slight inclines and would not shift out which was keeping it around 3500-4000 rpm during highway driving. Throttle response when pulling out from somewhere is night and day as well. the improvements this gives you is undeniable. It's hard to articulate but once you have been behind the wheel and experience it for yourself it will make you a believer.

It was when I started fucking around with S mode on my automatic that I gave up. I never tried the tune. But if it works... fucking A!!! Do it.

I'll have to go find that thread for poops and laughs. I don't plan to tune, but it's good reading.

But after owning an automatic, the S mode does an incredible job of stimulating shifting. I used it 80% of the time "off roading" because I hated the lack of control over the transmission. Maybe that's just me being old. But it feels sooooo good decending a steap as shit trail locked down on first. Knowing the transmission won't "buck," and shift to second

Absolutely. I loved it in the Tundra. 4Lo, locked in first, and just walking down shitty terrain. Made descending things that weren't major drops pretty simple.

The great thing about the tune is if you don't like it or don't feel a difference, you can always go back to original. no harm, no foul.
