"THE ORIGINAL" 2023 TACOMA TRD PRO COLOR "SOLAR OCTANE" THREAD

It’s going to be interesting to see who is going to jump ship for the new Tacoma Pro. Some have done it for the tundra Pro and regret it. The dealerships will be making a lot of customers unhappy when they say we will give you this much for your Tacoma Pro because the new model is out. Happens with all vehicles.

 

Certainly a lot of mixed emotions on Solar Octane. I’ve Heard it looks totally different in person vs photos but I haven’t been able to get up close in personal with one so I think I’m on the fence. Hopefully I’ll see one in the wild soon to help me with my decision. With that said, everyone certainly entitled to their opinion and much like other Pro colors I’m sure it will be rare and I’m sure produce positive equity which is always inviting. Don't judge the color till you see it in full sunlight.

 

I’ve been stalking the local dealers in hopes of seeing one in person. I keep hearing it has a gold flake and that it looks wicked in the sunlight.

 

It looks wildly different in the sun vs in the shade

 

Those are pretty good photos of what it looks like in person.

 

I think it looks sweet, but I grew up on the the Dukes of Hazzard so....

In another world (single with no kids) I’d be all over an access cab. Best proportions by far. But then I wouldn’t have a Pro or Solar octane

 

Haha, I feel you bud.. Every time I see a 25 year old guy in an Access cab I get a little jealous of him. 6 foot bed, suicide doors, freedom... then I think na, that was just me 20 years ago. And wife and i are fairly certain we made kiddo number 1 on a 2 week camping trip in the old silver access cab.

I saw my first Solar Octane today, but it was a 4Runner! Coincidentally it was at the same time I saw my first new Sequoia, though that was White.

And saw something you don’t see everyday - XRunner. Had to snap a picture.

 

Yours is a much better representation of its color but here is mine just now.

 

I should have mine in about a month. An employee at the local dealer has a Tundra Pro in Solar Octane, so I had to go drive over and look at it today. Pictures do not do this color justice. Seeing the color in person has reaffirmed my decision. It is absolutely stunning. By far the best Pro color ever.
