I guess the C-channel is is the weakest link if using those.
While I’ve not broken my “plastic” ones yet. I think I’d rather break one than bend the c-channel.

I have bent mine slightly, but that was mostly my fault. I cranked the J-hooks down too tight when installing my tool box. (That’s how I know they “can” bend) . I guess it’s more “warped” than bent. But it’s noticeable when the tool box isn’t in the bed. Live and learn I guess?

It’s no different than a stake pocket is, truckers have used them for years. Not the end of the world. Maybe drill a hole in there if it’s too difficult to ratchet a strap.

I didn't write that it was the end of the world, I didn't write that it was unusable, I didn't write its poor design has or has not been used for decades, I didn't write I wanted to buy something just to modify it, I definitely didn't write that i wanted to receive poor attitude over the internet from a stranger with a required fake name, what I wrote is that I'd prefer something that's easier to use. I guess some people like doing things the hard way but that's not me.

Not to mention these have multiple mounting locations and they are billet aluminum. Drilling holes in something im using for strength just soumds like a bad idea anyways
