Just running the stock 4:10 gears. I’d consider a regear if I still had the auto but the 5 spd really dropped the gearing and helped the power. I’m at 2800rpm going 70mph so with as many miles as I drive I’m not willing to sacrifice top end for a little more umph on the trails

Made some track board mounts on the new rack today. I was tired of forgetting them or having them slide around the bed and take up room since I built the new rack. I ended up coming up with an idea to make a bracket that mounts to the RTT rails. Happy with how it turned out and it clears all the camp gear so win win!

Also picked up another set of quick fists at sportsman’s to mount the shovel

Well we sold the wife’s Subaru and picked up a 3rd gen 4Runner for her. She wanted my Method NV’s on it so I started hunting for new wheels for the taco. I got lucky and found a used set of SCS Ray10’s on Craigslist and we made the 5 hour drive to go pick em up!

    Great looking truck man.

Just curious, can you still lift the rack when your tent is set up?

I like this solution rather than just the reinforcement plates on the outside of the frame above the wheels. I'd like to get a swingout bumper PURELY to swing out bikes on a hitch rack and hold them higher to increase clearance, but have been worried about bending the frame with the weight.

Also, I like the bed rack setup. This may make me move to a RTT over the Flippac since I can barely fit into the garage and it takes me 10 minutes to go in or out - constantly checking to see if I'm going to hit the door or low hanging bolts on the door track.

Hey man, is there a chance you have the link to buy the rim center caps that you had for the method rims?

    Thank you, badass truck btw!

They are nice and bright, I would hesitate to call them a “spot” like they are marketed as though. More like a boosted flood pattern. Standard halogen lights I had in the past definitely boasted more of a long narrow spot beam.

yeah not surprised there. Haven't seen anything other than an LED canon compare to an HID or halogen spot. But that is due to the large reflector vs the small optics.

    Thanks man.

I’ve been crazy busy working on my wife’s 4Runner building bumpers and sliders, installing suspension and ball joints etc and as a thank you (amazing woman) she ordered me an X-Bull 13,000 lb winch with synthetic rope. It’s China made like other cheap options but I have had good experiences with X-Bull and their customer service so I wanted to give it a shot.

I ordered up a Factor55 thimble to go with it
    100A3A46-2494-4FB8-8422-69038D0C9BE7.jpg
And mocked up how I’m going to re-fab the center section of the bumper to house it instead of the light bar that is currently installed in said location.

I am very impressed with them. I have around 14k miles on them and while that’s not much they still look new. The pricepoint is unbeatable and they perform very respectfully. I have always ran BFG a/t’s up to this point and wouldn’t go back. To be fair I have never ran the ko2’s just the originals but I find these are slightly better in the snow. Where they really shine is in the dirt and on gravel. They feel super grippy and don’t hold and throw near as many rocks as the bfg’s did. They are also silent on the pavement. Overall very impressed and if they reach the mileage I used to get out of my old tires I will be really sold.
