If it follows the pattern of the Tundra, the increase over current gen will be way more than that. Current TRD Pro is at $50K for an automatic.

    upload_2023-5-20_11-6-29.jpg

The 2021 Tundra TRD Pro had an MSRP of $49,125, and the 2022 TRD Pro started at $69,200.

There's no way the new Taco Pro, that will be the same hybrid required setup, is only going to go up by $5K. The current state of things will make it easy for them to slot the top models at $60K or more.

Every generation of Tundra has seen significant price increases. I've not done the same research on the Taco gens, because I only cared about the 3rd gen, but I would bet it's the same pattern.

I don't know about 10,000 problems, but a few hurdles. I looked at it some when putting in the crawl box. Would have to switch out the ADD tube to one from a manual FJ cruiser. Would also have to spoof the computer for the missing ADD. The transfer case would bolt in but it is just a smidge longer so drive shafts would have to be resized. Then the dial on the dash would actually 2wd=AWD, 4H=4H center diff locked, 4L=4L center diff locked.

    So. Many. Stickers.
Then your 4x4 ECU would need to be convinced, your abs and vsc would need to be recalibrated and convinced to work properly and I imagine several other things as well.

Oh I know, I was interested in a 23 tundra until the pricing came out. The taco has to stay under tundra pricing though and in the ball park of the other midsized trucks.

the taco also moves significantly more volume than the tundra so they need less margin on each sale.

It’s gone up but not as significantly as the tundras. My tundra was 50k and the new ones are 75k.

my 17 Tacoma was 35 and a 23 would be about 40-45 but has quite a bit more tech

The non-hybrid has to stay close to competition. The Hybrids are going to bloat to cover the cost off the extra resources to build them. With the new GM trucks reaching upwards of $60K I see no reason why the hybrids Tacos won't be on par.

Well, I asked the guys at safelite if they wanted the ditch lights and or brackets off and they said yes to both, so I finally removed those horrendous $20 floppy no good very bad brackets. Once the new windshield is in the ditch lights will be reinstalled on some significantly more stout Caliraised brackets. Also, I really should buy the bigger cupholders because damn are the stock ones ass.
