    this and that...
i would always try to aim for 4.5 bs unless its oem wheels (ie: 4runner, tacoma, fj).

As right now I don't have a better picture, but I'll try to post one ASAP.
4.5" backspace it clears the UCA very nice, almost a inch( 3/4" if I'm not wrong)

I have a 3" spacer lift on the front and an add-a-leaf in the rear and was looking at 285/75/16s for my stock TRD wheels (16X7s) until I found this thread. My impression from this thread is that I won't work. I had already been concerned as my UCAs are already pretty close on my old DynaPros (265/75/16) but would really like a wider more aggressive tire like the Nitto Trail Grapplers. On EBay, however, I did find them in 285/70/16 --> would these also rub??? Any help from more experienced individuals would be really appreciated. Thanks!

With the 285/70/16 it might not rub, I'm not sure.(they are not as tall as 285/75/16). But, if you want 285/75/16, the cheapest way to go is wheel spacers ( http://toyteclifts.3dcartstores.com/Spidertrax-wheel-spacers-125-inch-Hub-Centric_p_1096.html and they will give you a discount if you tell them you are a TW member( you only need it for the front) ) or you can buy 255/85/16 tires. My opinion.

Thank you. If I do the spacers (roughly $200) then my wife will likely want me to spend less on the tires so I might just stick with the 265/75/r16 size and enjoy having tires flush with the fender flares. Some day when I'm not a poor grad student I'll do it properly and get new (and wider) alloy rims... like 17x8s.

I'm running my stock 16x7 TRD off-road rims with 1" Bora wheel spacers. I have 5100s set at 2.5 in the front, and all I had to do was remove my mudflaps to run my 285s. I have zero rubbing and didn't have to trim anything.

Btw, I couldn't be happier with my decision to go with 285s. They fit the wheel well perfectly, and perform great as well.

0mm just rubs the inside of the fender flare at full stuff with 285's, any wider would smash into the flare at full stuff?

I think we have the same rims. Do you have bump stops? I don't think I encounter the same problem.

I do have bump stops but no sway bar so my truck flexes a little more up front

See if you can try it on before buying them. In my opinion they should work good. Maybe somebody can give you a better advise than me.

My personal opinion is that -6 offset should work better than +0 offset. Once you remove the mud flaps you should be good.

This that and the other thing.
Thread REVIVAL!! now like I say quite often, I am no expert. BUT would a negative offset not be beneficial? because a negative offset means the mounting surface is behind the centre line of the rim, so in theory would this not make your set up sit further away from the UCA's? if you have a 0mm offset wouldn't your tire/rim be sitting 12mm closer to everything (UCA's) compared to a -12mm offset? or am I just plain wrong and crazy? or am I just missing something, like if I'm sitting 12mm further out I would be then rubbing on other things?
