So true!!! But.... I.... LOVE mcmaster....

Have you ever returned anything to them? It's hilarious. You just throw it in a box and send it and they figure it out. Makes every other business seem like dodo's (including my own).

I actually was just thinking that earlier.
Maybe I’ll sit down and bring this page up to speed.

Love all the build ideas. Getting ready to add a shell to my Taco and have a few questions about the L track you used. Genius idea. I am sure it is much stronger than the Yakima tracks. Plus easy add tie downs.

What did put on the underside of the shell for the nuts to rest on the backside? You said you put two L tracks on the interior, where did you place them? Did not see them in any photos. Did you have to modify the yakima T bolt to slide in the L Track? I will definitely go with anodized black track also.

Used another rail of L-track on the inside of the shell, on the roof. Essentially making a sandwhich with the shell.

    L-track
    Roof
    L-track

I didn’t have to modify the Yakima inserts at all. Inserts I have are more like flat bar woth threaded hole.

The L-track I bought was clear anodized...I sprayed it with Rustoleum High Temp to make it black.

Just curious.. what did you do with the 4 KC lights you had mounted on the front of your roof rack?

So are there just a few nuts on the inside that get in the way of the accessory tie downs? Or are the nuts flush also? I know lots of questions.

Sitting in a box, in my garage, waiting on someone to adopt them.

Nuts were not flush on the inside. But since you can “drop in” tie down points it made little difference.

How much would it cost to adopt them? I'd consider providing a good home for them :D
