I'm personally anti-skewp. I'm a pretty decent painter so color match is on the cheap. For me, the cost of a compressor/aftermarket locker isn't worth what I can buy an OR for. Although.......OBA is so nice.

Gotcha, I like the color matched mirrors and bumpers on the sport. The skewp is just a bonus lol. Someone more technical than me will hopefully correct me, but I believe the sports diff is beefier than the OR. So theoretically adding an air locker would be “stronger” than the OEM locker in the OR. I’ve also never heard of many people blowing their rear end up in an OR.

That’s why my truck stayed leveled for barely a year, then the 3in lift was a necessity.

 

Apparently it depends on the inspector but typically if it has rust through like that it will fail. Some places won't even allow a shitty patch job. In Maryland, you only need to have your vehicle "safety" inspected once when you buy it. So the POS you see on the road are typically the same owner that had them when they weren't POS.

Seems crazy. You just need to find the right one if this is what you really want. I bet there is one out there. Just how bad you want one are willing to go to get it. I almost bought a older Porsche 911 for $9k out in NM. Apparently out there things never rust. It was garage kept. Their sun is like our salt and does the most damage. It was high miles but pristine. I kick myself for not flying out there and driving it home to my garage.

 

That doesn't look so bad now that you have a good close up. Some minor work if you ask me. Fiberglass and bondo work is easier than most people think.

 

I’m not as turned off by it now, but I still don’t want to pay over 1500. I’ll probably drive out this weekend and kick the tires and poke some holes.
