So this weekends project was making rock lights to install on my truck for a cheap price and one where I can easily remove one if it goes bad or anything. I am not taking credit for this as I have seen @Base Camp and some one whose name is blanking me.
    What is needed:
Lights : these are RioRand 2-piece lights http://www.amazon.com/RioRand-Waterproof-Aluminum-Daylight-Vehicles/dp/B00C1YI2XA
I have 8 in this picture and am working on another 8.
Rare earth magnets: I found some cheap ones on eBay but not sure if they are the best
Aluminum angle 1 inch and 48 inch long X2
Lastly you need a two part epoxy hardener which I used the heavy duty stuff.

This is a super easy project, cheap, and replaceable. for added strength you could probably bolt them to the frame or use double sided tape and the magnets.
    IMG_7973.jpg IMG_7974.jpg IMG_7976.jpg IMG_7985.jpg IMG_7978.jpg IMG_7981.jpg
As you can seat easy to do and you can put them any where. I plan on using 14 or so with 4 for wheel wells, 8 on the frame 4 on the outside and 4 on the inside, and then based on the remaining lights I have ill use them to add more light to the front bumper or the rear. Hopefully this helps anyone who wants to build cheap rock lights. If you want to see pics of them installed Ill have them wired up next weekend.

This weekend I was lucky enough to be invited on a two day camping trip which I had to cut short sadly. I have gotten to know Tyler and Satin @Pelfreybilt pretty well and have been lucky enough to get to test their armor and can say its so comforting going into the unknown and choosing to drive over rather than around something since I know nothing is getting through my armor. They also know how much of a @DefconBrix fan boy I am so they were kind enough to invite me to meet him and some other really awesome guys like @Brosefff and his sick 2016 taco. Sean is such an amazing guy and his truck lives up to all the instagram glory plus he was full of some sweet stories. Tyler who is already a badass has a truck that is in my eyes neck and neck with Sean's so it was a sight to see. We started getting all geared up and headed out to Julian which we would take the 78 to a trail. This trial off the 78 led to an old abandoned mine known as the Warlock Mine built in 1870 and expanded in 1957, This mine lead to the first and only San Diego Gold rush. Most of the ground around was burned in the 2002 fire but has begun to regrow thankfully. This trail that passes the mine and a hill side home to the wolf sanctuary would eventually turn into a hiking and offroad trail that lead down along side the hill.

Here we see Mrs. Satin Pelfrey in her sexy 4runner decked out with extended travel kings, Goosegear drawer system and frontrunner rack which holds the CVT Mt. Shasta. Oh and can't forget the front bumper with Bajalights. I personally love how the front bumper matched the cars lines and provides a good amount of airflow without any obstruction.
    IMG_7938.jpg
Here is a view of the first trail we took. This would lead down to a spot where a house once was but all there is now is a concrete slab that made for a good lunch break.
    IMG_7952.jpg IMG_7954.jpg
From here we would follow down through some sandy curves till we met S2 which would take us to the trail head and a little fun in the sand. Of course we had to all do donuts and make a mini sandstorm. Here I took a moment to take a picture of @Brosefff 2016 LT taco which has to be one of the few 16's I actually enjoyed seeing.
    IMG_7955.jpg IMG_7956.jpg IMG_7957.jpg IMG_7958.jpg
We would then take the trail to Arroyo Seco Del Diablo and on to Devils drop off and Broken Axle Gulch. Devils drop off was a tight fit as Sean, Satin, and myself all were within a few inches of a bad day but in the end it was a learning experience of just trusting the truck and letting gravity do its thing.
    IMG_7961.jpg IMG_7968.jpg
This trip is one that is stock 4x4 friendly but it doesn't hurt to have some extras like maybe a Total Chaos +2 long travel kit with fox coilovers and bypasses. Sadly as the rest of the group would go on to camp and later visit some awesome stuff I had to turn around and unfortunately hit the pavement. I didn't leave empty handed though with some new friends, a ton of scratches, and a Mexican diamondback rattle snack rattle. I did however realize how much more I want to do to my truck as soon as I get money lol

Nice job @Pirhett . Cant wait to see the night shots...

Also to give credit I believe @SMKYTXN did the original. @Bsheriff11 and I think @geekhouse23 have done it also. I found that on some of the magnets the epoxy failed over time. I tried gorilla glue and that seemed to do the trick.

Oh smart idea! I think Ill try this out and I used the heavy duty epoxy so maybe that will help along with some double sided tape. Thanks for coming up with this idea man and thanks for letting me use the idea!
