If the weather is decent enough, the rear bumper will be plasti derped tomorrow. I started taping off the plastic pieces today and then it began the lightest possible sprinkle outside, I decided it wasn't a good day, 15 minutes later the torrential downpour began.

Think one can should do it?

I used one whole can on my grill. I imagine you're gonna need two for the bumper.

Has anyone ever tried dipping their chrome door handles? I have that and my bumper left to do and I will be CHROME FREE :D I was planning to buy and replace em with black door handles off of ebay for $20 and some change, but am thinking of changing my mind cuz I've got a couple cans of dip left and might try it. Anyone try this before? How did it go? How'd you mask it off?

Nice. Thinking about doing my '12 also.

Any (anyone?) ideas if this stuff will stay on and how it looks like it'll wear, does it seem like it'll peel, chip, go light gray or super dull? It would be a PITA to do this every 6 mos.

It's been 6 months since I've dipped my grill and I only have one speck where a rock hit it. BUT, I prepped my grill as though I was going to paint it. Scuffed the chrome well, adhesion promoter and primed. Also I laid many layers on. I used 1 whole can on the grill.

Wow, that's thorough prep work. Thanks!

(a Big Lebowski quote came to mind "I know a doctor, he's good, and thorough".)

Did you spray the handle and trim? Or just the handle? And issue with over spray getting into the actual mechanism behind the handle? How did you tape it off? Did I ask enough questions? Can I ask more if I have to later?

I so want to dechrome my door handles. Always wondered why the tailgate handle is black and the driver/passenger handles are chrome.

Hey man, I just sprayed the handle (chrome) outside only. I basically just masked off what I didn't want sprayed. After masking, I roughed it up a bit with 320 grit paper just because I had some, don't know if it benefited. Oh, I feel because I just did the chrome I could see, I'm not too sure how it will hold up. I'll have to wait and see haha! If it doesn't hold up I'll just do the same but maybe with paint instead. This is how I masked it off. These pics are post-dipped, I figure I show you exactly how I did it :p

    Sorry for the large sizes...
