Anytime fog mod, debadged, drop in k&n, smoked taillights, led inside and out,
Dipped the wheels this weekend. I was dying to do something on the truck. What do you think?

I am not a fan of black wheels, but I have to say that with the silver edge and logo details it looks damn good.

Look out for snakes in the grass guerrilla marketing.
I agree, that looks really good, what did you use to mask those areas off? Did you just tape them off?

Has anyone ever tried instead of taping maybe putting some sort of jelly like vaseline so the platisdip wont stick? I used to do this with gluing models.

So, first off, I am sure people will say I went overboard.. probably right! That said, it was for fun, and to see how it would work out...

With that said, I had fun attacking my truck with several cans of dip this weekend. My camper shell does not match the color of my truck, and color matching is too expensive right now. So, hit up Lowe's, and bought $30 worth to see that I could do. In the end, I would up coating:

    The entire shell
    Both running boards
The center hubs of each wheel.

I will need more coats on the shell, but it is ok in the meantime till I can grab another can or two. I don't have crazy expectations.. I know it is not permanent.. hut for $30, I don't care. As it is, I think the color and texture matches everything better now. Here are before pics, and I have attached the after shots ..

Had a map taped on with scotch tape. It was on for about 8 hours mostly sunny. Pulled it and the grey pulled off with it. I will get a pic during the day
