I used 4 cans for 4 wheels. I noticed that the last probably 25% of the can just starts to spatter and shart its way out, similar to a wednesday morning following taco tuesdays. Didn't matter how much or little I shook the can at this point. I guess I have a lot more area to cover than a lot of you guys even though I have 16's. Very small holes in wheel. Giant openings between spokes would be e-z

You have to let it sit for like, 10min to let it start curing just a bit but still be very damp/plyable to get a good edge.

Not really all that different from normal spray paint actually....

Hmm I did my lower valance 1.5 years ago. I regularly go through the car wash and also hit it with the pressure washer occasionally.

Still there and still looks great.

Tho I did put 3/4 of a can on just the valance...I think the first 2-4 coats are the most important. After your 4th coat you should still see color through the plasti-dip. You want to build a good foundation and go from there.

Once it dries the overspray will stay connected. It's not like normal paint that you can spray, let it dry, then pull up the tape. Because it's basically a rubber composite you need to pull the tape while it's still wet or cut the seam between the surface and tape.

It shouldn't be dry at all when you pull the tape

I just took my grill off and sprayed it so no masking. Or you can spray, pull tape, then reapply tape and spray again :notsure: Maybe use a razor and do all all coats then cut where the plasti dip meets the tape so it doesn't peel off? Everything I've plasit-dipped I disassembled and painted it separately other that my rear bumper and for that I taped it off, painted, pulled the tape, reapplied tape, and painted and repeated 3x. Thing is with plasti dip is that once it dries it creates a rubber coating so it won't separate on tape from the surface like regular spray paint will. The rubber coating adheres to the surface rather thick unlike spray paint. This is also why you can pull plasti dip from any surface unlike spray paint

I cut mine along the edge of the tape, no problemo.

Alrighty. It pulled away while i tried to remove the tape from the vents on the grill. When I seen what was happening tried to cut it away but the damage was done. Ill try this again in the morning and instead of tapping the vents off ill just paint over them. Fiend you have pics of all this dip on your truck?

Here are a few from the past. For some reason the ones of my rear bumper won't load. The grill and bumper were chrome though since I have the TRD O/R. You can kinda see the rear bumper but you can fully see the grill and rims

I used Rustoleum Specialy Fluorescent. Before that I used 400 grit sandpaper to scuff up the chrome, white primer, then the green for about 3 or 4 coats

When I debadged mine I just sanded, primed, then 3 coats of the color I wanted. To me they're small enough to where I didn't worry about perfection. In the end though, stick them everything in the oven for 5 minutes after preheated to 250 and turned off. This will give the finish even more of a smooth look. Don't do it with plasit dip though for obvious reasons
