    Does Plasti-Dip count as a mod ?
    I've been reading up on this stuff. I think I'm going to do my emblems, rear chrome bumper and maybe the wheels too. Oh, the stock rugged fails are raised white letters.....might have to wait a few months to buy new tires.
    Going for the no chrome look. Color match grille and black everything else out.

    so pretty much just painted and then shortly after got pretty close the the emblems with the toothpick then waited to dry to touch peel and touch up around them

    so you pretty much in a nut shell, used the tooth pick around the emblems shortly after you painted so it dont pull off the emplem. After its dryed go back and pull of the around and touch up the emblem edges. Sry for the confusion just trying to get the process down, is that about correct?

    I'm thinking about plasti-dipping my lower front valance. It seams like the only thing I need to do is wash the bumper and clean it with acetone, tape/cover and spray away. My question is, after a couple of coats should I remove the tape with the help of a razor a.s.a.p. or let it dry then remove it?

    If any of you all have tried it, what did you guys think?

    I've only done the bumper, but I let it dry then used the razor along the taped edges, then removed the tape with ease.

    I don't think you need do wipe it down with acetone. I did mine with plasti dip about a month ago and it turned out great. Yes you will need to remove the tape as soon as you get as many coats as you want. I let mine dry a little too long and had to use a razor blade to cut between the tape and pain. Make sure you remove the tape slowly to prevent the plasti dip from pealing if you let it dry too long.
