dip it on the truck man. just get some newspaper and painters tape and tape up on the tailgate and around the bedside to account for overspray. You can take off the platic step parts if ya want to, but i didnt. Just taped em off and was careful when I peeled the tape off.

How long did it take you? It looks great, definite improvement to the Fiat:D
how do you think it will hold up to wear and tear of the road and weather?

Took me about 5 hours total. most of the time came from the prep work and waiting between coats. Spraying itself took maybe an hour.

As far as wear and tear I think it will hold up just fine. I was doubtful at first because the first day after painting it the paint still felt rubbery. However yesterday we took it for a spirited drive through the mountains and I noticed the color had gotten to be a darker green and it felt more like plastic than rubber. Its hard as nails today, so I am assuming it is fully cured.

Anyway the spirited driving included a few kicked up rocks from the roads and logging trucks, quite a few bugs, and I did a little "off roading" with it which ended up with me brushing against a few shrubs to clear a pothole in the path. It left some marks but they whiped right off.

Its like a spray on car condom, that's how I'd explain it.

Plasti dipped my front and rear bumper and finished up turn signal trim. Here are some pics of progress and will get more today. My fiancé puts up with me doing all this and is actually really good at taping things up.

Took some more pics today even though it was raining and found that I need to touch up one spot on the rear bumper but other than that it looks ok since it's my first time doing the whole plasti-dip thing.

Is it possible to "touch-up" plastidip after it's been on for two months? Just got my tires balanced and of course the previous weights were taken off and now some of the chrome shows. can I just pull the tire off and plastidip it a few more times?

They just came out with a solution that re-liquefies the plastidip so you can touch it up. Look it up on Dipyourcar.com

I remember watching a video on that, cool idea. Just isn't worth $20 for one use.

Also try WD-40.. it makes the plastidip liquid again but is used for taking the plastidip off.
Just try a little bit on the area, that may do the trick and it's considerably cheaper
