For those who dip over paint:

    I have a few questions.
1.How does the dip react to scratches and chips in the paint that is being dipped over?
2.When you peal the dip, does it pull right out of those chips or do you have to pick at it to get it all out?

I am trying to decide whether or not to do my bumper valance and it is full of gravel road and highway chips.

Thank you for your time :)

I think it's going to depend on how many coats you put on. If you put 4 or 5 coats on I think it would pull off with the rest of it.

You're still likely to be able to see dents and chips. I had to redo a part that was a little wet on my wheel. So I cut around it with a knife and resprayed it. It was easy to see that there wasn't as many layers on the spot I had to redo.

I did mine with a few light coats (whatever I had left from doing the wheels) and it didn't hold up well. If you do any driving through light brush and stuff it'll start peeling pretty quick. It's a pita to get off when it's thin. I've heard a little wd40 or gasoline and some elbow grease will take it right off though.

    Thank you Matt.

I have the oem skid plate so i'm not worried about it peeling, i'm just worried about it looking silly, i think if i do 3-8 decent coats....it'll look fine. I just have to man up and do it lol

Best part about dip is you can peel it off if you don't like it. You'll just be out of a couple bucks.

    1. PD shows the imperfections on a vehicle. It doesn't hide them. If the surface is flat, flush and you dip over it then you're going to be fine. If you have scratches, dents, pits then the dip is going to show that.
    2. If you put enough coats on it then it should all come up without an issue. Make sure that you clean and prep the area good though. If you don't and there is water, dirt left it will be under the dip and it will lift and bubble the dip.

I clean with alcohol before i spray. And it seemed to cover the paint chips in the T-handles on my cap that i just dipped....So i was hoping it'd fill in some of the nicks in my bumper valance :/

    Thank you for your time.

It is huh very bright… I will get used to it… Now, just trying to figure out if I wanna do the rest of the badges… I wanted to paint it Orange and Blue, I might look into seeing how to do that. But for now, it looks badass and the Georgia fans here can suck it.. LOL
