The red gave me a similar impression, in comparison to the black. The first 3 or so coats it still wasn't showing as the bright red it ended up as.

Anyone dip their wheels on the truck and have a brain fart and not cover up the rotors?

So.. without reading for hours, can I take my truck through a car wash now that I've plasti dipped the emblems... or will it peel off?

Did it this morning. Obviously I wouldn't wash it for a few days to let it fully dry and set.

It'll be fine in the car wash. It's pretty durable with about 4-5 coats. That's how many I put on my stock wheels a few years ago and had no problems. they're I'm the garage now still plasti dipped

Thanks for the reply homie.. Yea I took your advice and finally did it. turned out pretty good. I did probably 4-5 coats or more. Probably should have used more of the can. Left it on the tailgate and the bottom almost exploded from the 105 degrees heat today.

Pop the ac panel out and there are 4 10mm bolts that hold the radio in. The rest should pop off somehow (i've never gone farther than the radio)

How does the AC panel pop out? Just get an edge and pull?

I use a plastic puddy knife. Just stick it up under the bottom of the AC panel and wiggle it.

Ok, got it. Thanks. I went out and got the climate control face plate in there and to see where the stereos' screws were located. I'm wondering now how to keep the labeling for the controls showing. Hmmmm.... Also wondering if I should go with derp or paint.

Why not just do the background of the panel? The textured part.

Then leave the buttons and cylindrical parts with the dials and labels grey

Maybe just cut a little rectangle of masking tape to put over the labels for each one just like you would do for all the buttons?
