I have tried the heat gun method and personally I wasn't happy with the results. Reason being is because it comes out blotchy with some sections darker than the others and it just has messy results. It does turn the plastic a little darker, but I it's not what you're hoping for. I don't know how Plasti-Dip would hold up on the fender flares. I Plast-Dipped my chrome bumper black and it's been fine though for the last two months or so. I'd think with the fenders being so close to the wheel it wouldn't be a good idea because it would probably take a beating from the rocks. I've seen some guys on here try a Mr. Clean Magic Eraser or using a bed coating product with success.

Comes in white blue black etc but where I live black is the only one they had. I'm sure you can order it online in white bit not sure if it will match the same white as on the taco.

Mr. Clean Magic Erasers and good ol' elbow grease will clean off the gray oxidation. Make sure to get the extra strength erasers, they don't fall apart as easily. Mothers Back to Black after cleaning.

Start! These are the utilities i used. Rags with Rubbing Alcohol to clean the surface where you are applying the Plasti Dip

    93fe3e52_e5fb1874279cfe4bcfcd5ceda191545a70352063.jpg

Clean you area really good then tape around it with tape and paper/newspaper for overflow out of the can.. (Unless you are just a really steady aimer)

After you have it taped off and ready for a coat apply a light coat of the Plasti Dip.
    * The dip will not cover the entire emblem like spray can on the first coat, simply add a little bit, then go back about every thirty minutes with another coat. Here is what it looks like after the first coat of it.*

    c160c7a1_8b46f987f24c13fd57d6e6475720c5d7621bb520.jpg

Simply follow the instructions on the can and hold the spray can 12"-16" away from the surface. Make sure you shake the can really well while applying to surface. Also allow around 30 minutes to dry between each coat!

    Second Coat

The dip is in the process of drying right now for the 3rd and final coats after that i will be posting some more pictures.!

how long does this stuff last on rims bumpers and whatnot? i assume this is a less perminant option to a pro painting it.

If it takes semi hard hits to it, it is going to chip.. But is suppose to hold up about the same if not a little better than paint. Good thing about it is, if you don't like it. You can peel it off without hurting anything!
