Ended up dipping my badges. I like the look on the Pyrite. Once my BHLM retros come in it'll make the front end look better. Will probably do my valance as well when I find some time.

silly question but how do you get the clean tape line and not end up pulling up the derp too? I was told do it while its still damp but it didnt work for me... My roof is faded and was thinking about doing it.

When I did my roof I just took off the rubber strips on the side and sprayed into them so I didn't have to worry about a straight edge on the sides. As far as the front and back I just sprayed one layer then quickly remove the tape then put a new piece of tape on after that layer is dry for the next layer. Also used an exacto knife at some points, like for the 3rd brake light.

That's too much work haha. I do all my coats and remove tape and it's good. But I usually don't care about crazy straight lines

Humm Ya not to sure with the 1st gen. Might just have to go for it. I mean that is the best part about plasti dip after all lol.

Ha ha Ya I'm super picky with my straight lines. Even took a small paint brush with dip on it to touch it up.

Traded the 2015 TRD Pro 6spd Supercharged on a PowerWagon and could not be happier. My 2011 Tacoma with the TX Baja package (Added by me) is still treating me great. My 1985 Toyota never skips a beat.
Trying 3m paint defender. I think its similar to derp, but wanted clear.. pretty exited to see the results since I have derped my whole truck already should be easy to see pros and con's

Changed it back to a solid color. The orange was fading too much with the sun.

image.jpg image.jpg I've used it on my badges, grille and front logo and love it! It sprays on nice and easy and very evenly too. Going to do my rear bumper next. I've had it on for a few months and it's withstood the harsh winters in Maine plus car washes and looks like I just put it on yesterday.

Did you use the glossifier? How many cans per wheel? Did you take your wheel weights off?

So i plastidipped my trd OR wheels this past weekend. Removed wheels, worked on a table to clean and spray. Did about 7-8 coats, plus 2 glossifier for UV. Overall came out pretty good. Not 100% pleased though. As i was peeling the overspray off the tire, the dip on the lip where the wheel weights clamp on lifted a bit as well. I sprayed one more lock coat around this area and will see what happens. Love the black wheel look on the mgm. I dont feel confident that it wont peel off the lip in the future. Time will tell. Starting to look at black aftermarket wheels Lol. Anyone ever have this issue? Had my truck in for service over the weekend and had them rebalance and put weights on the inside.

Edit---I came home from work today and peeled it all off. It wasnt gonna last and was eating at me for 2 days.
