I wanted to black tint the trd sticker rather than removing it. I don't trust myself with a razor blade between a sticker and paint.

    Any other options?

Hope these photos help. I bought a 4 pack of motorcycle tie downs and take them apart, thread the strap through the scupper holes. The hoist system is a cheap one I bought at Meijer. It works great. My wife parks her car under these. That way if the boat falls it won't hit the Taco next to it!

And you just want to black the letters?? That's going to be tough without a razor, man. I'd look into getting some custom bedsides or buy the black ones from toyota. I got some custom vinyl bedsides at a sticker shop in the mall for $20. They look great. There are several guys on here that make them too.

image.jpg I just derp'd my control pads from the front doors. I have 3 coats on so far. I think that should be enough, right? Did anyone else do these? I'm debating on whether or not to do the gloss top coat or not. I'm thinking not since they will be inside out of the UV...

Yeah I noticed that - the can says avoid direct sun light. I just put them in the sun and they are smoothing out. I'm going to do 1 more coat and see how it looks...

Should I do the glossifier after?

I did mine awhile back. They look good but it wont hold up very long. I'm 6ft tall and my knee kind of rests up on the door from time to time and it wore the plastidip off a bit. Also, on the passenger side there are a few nicks in the dip from peoples nails.

I just peeled it all off and started again. The glossifier made it took like doo dooooo

I don't think I put it on right or didn't wait long enough to put it on.

I'm not worried about it lasting. At $5 a can I can just reapply anytime it gets noticeably messed up.

I do need to master it though, I want to do my hood scoop insert but not if I can't make it look right.

Yeah that's true, I did it just to see of I wanted to do it with paint later and still havent taken it off 2 years later haha. And whenever you use plastidip make sure you are using it the same as a spray can. Do long sweeping motions starting before the target and ending after the target. Plastidip dries porous and can get blotched really easily so dont spritz light areas, just apply evenly until everything is coated. It takes a little getting used to but that's what's great about plastidip, you can always remove it. Good luck man!

I did 4 more coats. Round 2 looks much better. I'm not sure about the glossifier this time. It hazed it too much last time..

Drivers side turned out better than passenger. Both look good though. Passenger side window button stuck pretty bad and I had to trim a bunch and it started to peel the derp some but it's not noticeable yet. It still sticks a little in the up position. I'm hoping it will wear down and stop sticking. If it peels up anymore I'll just take it back off and re do it.

I ended up not using the glossifier. I may take them off and add it, but after the first time I used it I like them better without.
