I did about one can for the bumper I used 1.5 for badges and bumper 5 coats a piece. I would do a couple more if I did it again

How do the metallics work? If I want a dark silver/gray metallic look what would I need? Would I do the black plasti dip then go over it with the darker metallic spray? Maybe then add the glossifier? Or can I just do a metallic spray on what I want?

Go to dipyourcar.com and watch some of the videos that they have posted and you'll get a better idea how the various colors work together.

Did my stock wheels, they look pretty good (not perfect). Unfortunately I got some dip on the concrete driveway. I guess I will try mineral spirits and a pressure washer.

Plasti dipped my bumper with true aluminum dip. Turned out to be a pretty close match.

Looks good - where did you buy it? I've found a couple stores online but they only have 3 or 6 packs for $40+...

I went derp crazy today and dipped my valence, scoop, and grill. It's like looking at a new truck. It is supposed to rain so I have it in the garage so I can't get a good pic yet but as soon as I get it out in the sun I'll get some good ones.

I was thinking of doing it to my bumper this weekend. issue is I have a white Tacoma not sure if I want to go black on the bumper or try the white plastidip. Also have the chrome around my grille.
Thought about doing both in black but worried it would look like the standard Tacoma which i don't know if I like but if I go white plastidip it will irritate me if it doesn't look right.

You could always head on over to the photoshop request thread and get an idea of what it'd look like, some of those guys are pretty talented and usually can do it for you pretty quick

So like I said, I did my valence, scoop, and grill today. Now I am thinking about when it comes time to wash the truck. How do I go about not messing up the dip? If I make up my bucket of soap and use my sponge to wipe it all down it isn't going to peel it up will it? I just used a cloth with water to wipe up all the spots I messed up/got where I didn't want it and it came right up. Of course, it wasn't dry yet when I was doing that.

I just want to make sure when I go to wash it I don't undo all the work I did today.

I did my rims a couple years ago. It's been through multiple auto and hand washes. It is just now starting to peel on the edges of one wheel, and I don't think it is from washing. (Wisconsin=road salt)

Nice part is if you don't like it, it doesn't take much more than some elbow grease. I was hesitant on doing my chrome grille but very happy with the results. I think that I have gotten a little carried away with how easy and cheap this mod is.

Looks cool Cannonfire....I dipped my badges in gray this past weekend...

When I was coating, I wasn't sure how many passes I should do, so I was more aggressive on the first few coats, like 5-6 passes on each coat (did a total of 4 coats). Then I noticed on the badges (side and back), the paint about to drip...I was very frustrated as the coat didn't look even. I ended up peeling them off and it was a nightmare to peel them off.

The badges on the back started to come off, so I ended peeling them out and painted them and super-glued them back to the truck. One other issue I had was to peel the paint inside the letters 'O' and 'A', I scraped a little paint doing that...can only see if you get upclose...

I'm planning to dip my chrome grill and bumper this weekend. Pointers would be appreciated...
