Has anyone tried putting on several coats of dip then hitting it with color matched aerosol base coat and then clearing it for grills and rear bumpers? I'm considering trying it.

I'm thinking of dipping my chrome grille and rear bumper and while it's wet spray it with aerosol touch up paint to color match it to my truck. Just curious if anyone has tried that and what the results were

hmmm not sure about that @MSU Taco it might defeat the purpose of plastidipping it in the first place.

I would say if anything you should let it dry then paint it.

    Plasti-dip is our friend :)

Are you trying to accomplish a color matched paint job that you can peel off?

I think hes tryn to retain the easy peel-ability of plasti dip as base....that link seems to be just paint not rubbery easy peel paint. :redxfall::stayontopic:

Thinking of derping my center caps on stock TRD Sport 17" wheels. any advice? yea/nay? What's the best way to pop out the center caps without breaking them? I've been practicing derping stuff in my barn this week to test my patience.

I'm going for this look with the wheels:; something to hold me over aesthetically until I can spring for new tires and FN Five Stars:

    Dipped front grill. Easy peezy.

Came out pretty solid. Not the best pic though.

It won't be as easy to peel off with a coat of paint over it, but you can eventually get it off if you want to
