The more layers you put on, the easier it is to remove.

I plasti dipped the front grill black and left the emblem chrome. I also make my own bug shield/chip cover up.

Also have blacked out all other emblems and back bumper. Just need to find the time to do the wheels.

I didn't read back through the 280 pages so I apologize if this was covered...

I have a really nice car wash by my house that does hand drying after one of those drive through washes with the rollers and scrubbers. Has anyone gone through these types of washes with dipped emblems? Did the non-touch-free car wash pull it off??

    Thanks in advance!

    Yep, it's been covered. Again.
Mine has not peeled either. I only use auto washes in the winter, then I use the under flush option.

How did you get the Emblem white so perfectly?

I'm planning on dipping my stock steel wheels tomorrow and would love to get it to come out like yours!

There are 3 tabs on the inside of the center cap that hold each emblem in place. With a little bit of heat and convincing (flathead screwdriver), you can get those tabs to pop out to release the emblem from the center cap. I used a lighter, but a heat gun would prob do a better job if u have one. Paint/dip the caps and then re-install the emblems when dry.

Anyone derp'd their UCAs before? I still have stockers and don't plan on upgrading as I was still able to get aligned after I put on my lift and don't want to drop anymore cash right now. When I was looking though I saw a lot of red UCAs that would look awesome on my truck. Figured I could just dip my UCAs red and get the same result. Only problem would be that I would like to avoid taking them off to do it so I don't need to get another alignment. I don't think it would be too hard to tape off everything else in the wheel area

I guess it can be too cold for derp? :notsure:

Just tried to do my arms and it came out of the can like snot and just ran down anything I sprayed it on. It's like 40degrees out but the can has been in my garage for a couple days and its been below freezing at night. I brought it in the house where it will stay until this weekend when its supposed to be up in the 60s again. I'll try the arms again then...

UCAs are still a work in progress but I did the skid plate today. I'm going to have to peel it off and redo it if I end up liking it. It was rather windy today and it's pretty spotty and got some stuff stuck all in it as it was drying.

Looks good. It's a skid plate though, just let it get banged up some more before you re-paint it ;)

Sorry if this has been covered but, has anyone tried removing their aged plastidip? I plastidipped my front bumper cowling years ago to see if I liked it with the plan to remove and go with permanent paint eventually. So I forgot and now two years later I'm wondering if it would be better to try the removal or just coat it again with dip.
