Anyone using glossifier on their bumpers after applying da deep?

Also, my local Home Depot does not have the Plasti-dip glossifier, just the rustoleum brand glossifier. Think that would work over the Plastidip?

Anyone have a Silver Tacoma like mine, with the wheels, and/or the chrome parts of the grill dipped? Would love to see how that looks.

I didn't use glossifier on my bumper, but I did pick up a can for when I do my rims. I read it helps to keep them clean and easier to remove brake dust with it.

Mine are holding up excellent. I just took the wheels off because I got SCS wheels, but I never had to respray them or anything. I did have to do some touching up cuz I thrashed it on a curb but otherwise they hold up pretty well if you do a thick coat.

Has anyone plasti-dip their 1st Gen? If so, have any pictures?

I've used it before on my 2011 emblems, but I'm getting ready to plasti-dip the wife's 2002. The lower front bumper is super faded and no longer looks black. Those restore lotions come off after a few washes.. so I'm going to derp it.

Anyone with a 1st gen share some photos. Thanks

Ok so I dipped the lower half of the front grill on my ladies 2002 taco cuz the plastic was extremely faded and scratched. Looked awful.

Put 4 nice coats on it yesterday and turned out almost perfect.

However, the middle bottom round part of the grill turned out a little more textured, almost furry. I'm going to put a can in hot water and try to add a nice thick wet coat this morning to smooth it out. I know it gets better over time too, and after a few days in the Vegas sun it will smooth out, but yeah.

Any tips for fixing that somewhat furry area? Or is this how it should look. Below are some pics, and yes I covered the hood before spraying.

That one spot.. look ok, or too fuzzy?

Have you just considered painting it? I dipped my old bumper and after a month or so of driving it started peeling due to rocks, bugs, and other debris. Made it look like shit. Ended up painting it (with a little bit of prep) and looked a lot better and lasted a lot longer and did not fade like dip will eventually do anyways

How many coats did you do? And yeah I'm wondering about rocks causing it to chip too, but rims last just fine.

    I added some photos above.

Yeah my rims lasted awhile except for when tire shop scratched them.
I did about 3-4. It still got scuffed and faded especially in desert heat! But it looks good how you did it and should last a while. I was always going over dirt roads so that probably lead to its premature scuffs.
The fuzzy is probably just the angle of spray since that is a hard place to spray. Probably can just go over it with another coat.

Buy some of the Plasti-dip glossifier to prevent fading. Good job though!

Recommend a good angle? I'm trying to go down and in at a slight angle to get back. It only looks bad looking straight down, and really close. Far away it's fine.

And yeah, thx. I'll probably get some gloss too, forgot to get it on Tuesday.

Also remember...roughly 0 people will ever be walking by, stop and get down to look at the bumper from 12" away like you currently are while doing the project. For a $5 can of plasti, $8 can of glossifier, and maybe like 2hrs including prep.... your results are fine IMO.

I'd be nervous about over spay and messing up the existing dip. When I actually painted my bumper I probably did an angle that was close to the 3rd picture you posted. I wouldn't worry about it though since you can only see it from looking close and no one will be inspecting your bumper
