Why not? I sprayed my chrome bumper and didn't tape off the plastic step. It held until I peeled it off.

I experimented on the actual paint. Thinking of doing a Hood piece with it. But when you Peel the tape up, the paint comes with it. You guys spraying lower valance, are you scoring the tape line before peeling it up?

***Disclaimer***: hardly any of this info is my own. all is pulled from outside sources. credit will given where credit is due.

Due to all of the large amounts of plasti dipping threads lately having repeat questions about the product ive decided to put together all of the information in one spot

pic and write up thanks to yfzdrag3 i hope he doesnt mind me using his info

Start! These are the utilities i used. Rags with Rubbing Alcohol to clean the surface where you are applying the Plasti Dip

    93fe3e52_e5fb1874279cfe4bcfcd5ceda191545a70352063.jpg

Clean you area really good then tape around it with tape and paper/newspaper for overflow out of the can.. (Unless you are just a really steady aimer)

    11ebe31d_511e9cf86debc9d8e1f266cd14181045842c538f.jpg
    b5a81ca9_60cb3786c5fa9b2801b6879dfdc4559d7cac0e20.jpg

After you have it taped off and ready for a coat apply a light coat of the Plasti Dip.
    * The dip will not cover the entire emblem like spray can on the first coat, simply add a little bit, then go back about every thirty minutes with another coat. Here is what it looks like after the first coat of it.*

    c160c7a1_8b46f987f24c13fd57d6e6475720c5d7621bb520.jpg

Simply follow the instructions on the can and hold the spray can 12"-16" away from the surface. Make sure you shake the can really well while applying to surface. Also allow around 30 minutes to dry between each coat!

    Second Coat

First i have to say this stuff is really amazing. If it holds up as much or better than paint i have to say i probably wont use paint for anything like this ever again.
    1) I didn't have to remove anything and sand/primer.
    2) It peeled off of the badges so easy (as long as i took my time). Where the letters stick up a little higher, it would brake off perfect.

Notes: When peeling it off be sure to take your time! The more time you take, the better you are going to be pleased with it after it is all said and done!
*Also, after putting 4-5 light coats on it, make sure you put it equally all over where you don't have tapped off! This makes it easier to peel and easier to peel around the letters also!

Still have to peel between the fine areas but more than pleased!!

Hope i helped with the write up and if you all need it in order for a sticky or anything let me know and i'll shoot one up! Thanks and goodluck!

Can we make this a sticky and merge every new plasti-dip thread into this? That way I can unsubscribe from this thread and I won't have to see 3 new threads popping up everyday about someone plasti-dipping their grille/wheels/badges/dog/cat/mom.

nice thread! and I can second the fact that plasti-dip holds up well. I did those wheels, bumper, and badges back in october and they all have help up great to several car washes, a very harsh winter, and several thousand miles.

Just finished dippin my emblem white. (spray on plasti-dip)

I'm not sure how good the match is.. its dark, and my truck is dirty, but also I cant decide. It almost seems too bright white.

Sorry for the crappy photos... but better than nothing.. maybe

    emblem sitting on the hood.
