Ive had my wheels and emblems plasti-dipped for about 4 months now.

The emblems have held up great. Even to scrub brushes at the car wash and high pressure of drive thru car washes.

The wheels Ive had to touch up. The branches scraping the wheels while off roading did tear through it in a spot.

If you ever have your wheels taken off, the impact will probably tear it up around the lugs.

Its a simple fix, just blast the torn spot, let it dry and its good as new.

do you offroad? I would think sand or gravel would tear it up pretty quick. Or even washing it frequently to remove mud. If its mostly on the street I say go for it. I've seen pictures of cars that do it and i think it lasts at least a few months.

Spray paint would probably hold up better. I bought some Cragar steelies that are powdercoated black for $50 apiece. Might be something to consider. Maybe spraypaint for now and when you need new tires get powdercoated rims too? I paid $80 to have the tires swapped onto new rims which kinda took the value out of the trade up.

spray paint would be a bit tougher but will eventualy chip. I used duplicolor wheel paint on mine 6 months ago (no clearcoat) and their still pefect even after all the road salt from winter. they make a clearcoat also for added protection too.

The plastidip actually holds up pretty well and if you decide you don't like it or it gets messed up you can just peel it off.

It's up to you, but I say go for it! It's cheap, easy to do, and you can always peel the stuff off if you don't like it. Here's a pic from when I did mine. I just did one wheel plasti-dipped to see the difference, then did the rest. I really like the way they turned out! and they're holding up great.

I did the plasti-dip route because it was easy and I'm kinda cheap. But if you're sure you like the look of black wheels and want it to last as long as possible, then this is probably better.
