Nope no need to heat it up to remove, just peel it off.

My buddy used Plasti dip on his wheels about 7 months ago and so far its still on. He did about 5 coats and no sanding needed just wash and dry before painting.

Thanks Man! I felt the same way until I did some test runs on an old washing machine and that shit peeled right off plus it helps that I keep my truck waxed.:D

This stuff is awesome! I use the liquid type to dip electrical parts on my r/c trucks to them water proof.

    You don't want to know...
So I have a set of brand new TRD wheels I'm going to put on my truck. My plan was to sand, primer, and paint them black. I just discovered a thread about plasti dip, looks like awesome stuff.

So now I'm thinking I could plasti dip spray paint them, and when I trade the truck in for a TRD Off Road, I could remove the plasti dip and sell the wheels(hopefully for more not painted) or leave them on the truck and increase the trade in value.

Anybody have any experience in this area?

I might just do the same to the emblems as long as I can be sure the stuff will come off.

Yes I used the black spray kind. I used tooth picks to pick out the plasti dip between and inside the letters. when you mask around the emblem make sure not to put the tape too close to the emblem. I know it sounds crazy spraying the body panel dont worry it will come off.

If you rough up the surface and use the primer your going to have a lot more trouble removing it if you don't like it black.

IMO, if you aren't sure if you want the chrome black then don't do the surface prep. If you don't like it peel it off. If you do like it, then once it starts peeling, remove it and paint. With the surface prep of course.
