I like it for painting the emblems simply because it's easier, no need to take them off, paint them and reapply them. That's about it though.

People just go overboard with it, and use it as a permanent paint when if anything, it should be used for a temp "Hmm-do-I-like-that?" kind of thing.

    Where mod? MEGA THREAD?

Love plasti dip. Have it on my truck and it works better on there than on tools. Seems to come off too easy on tools.

    of course
I used it to see how my grill would look without the chrome surround. I like it, so once I get a little down time, I will sand the grill and paint it. Or just buy a black one.

I love the stuff because it isn't as finicky as spray paint. I like the fact that you can touch it up when it peels a little. I would love to be able to have the $ to get black rims and a good spray gun for other stuff. In the meantime, I will keep going to my plasti-dip anonymous meetings.

I had it on my previous car's wheels and it lasted longer than paint. It never chipped or scratched. It's a rubbery coating that flexes. Unlike normal paint. But everyone's opinion is their own. I'm not saying it the better than paint but for certain applications it will last longer than paint.

I think Plasti dip is easy to put on.... and easy to take off.
If your looking for a long term solution, paint or powder coat should be the best choice.

I guess it also depends on what you drive through/over and what you use to clean it. I'm sure pressure washers and plasti-dip do not mix...

It worked very well for my needs. My FedEx truck was required to have a black front bumper. Cheap easy and reversible.

Just take your time let the layers dry for 30 min between coats. And do at least 3 coats.

IIRC I think someone on here actually used it like fix-a-flat last year. When I get time I'll try to search for it.

If the plasti dip gods really like you they will allow you to have it in chrome. Painting the tail pipe with chrome plasti dip is sweet.
