Random question maybe some of you have experienced?

I have a 17 DCSB w/ a Cabrac... have had the cabrac on for 2 years with no issues, beyond the initial tinkering with positioning, trim, etc., to reduce wind noise and have had to to a satisfactory level.

From underneath the passenger side visor , Recently I’ve noticed a slight vibration that sounds like intermittent buzzing, it’s not constant, but happens frequently and in windy conditions it’s more frequent. If I’m driving and lower the passenger visor I can feel the vibration and hold my hand against the headliner and it stops.

This of course led me to go around and retighten the side rails and bars and everything is very snug but the buzzing is still there - only on the passenger side. I’ve thought about many things but the puzzling thing to me is why it just started happening after two years and if it is somehow wind related and I can feel it on the headliner could it be opening me up to potential water damage

Indications say no. It’s been the wettest Feb on record so my truck has been sitting and driven through downpours frequently and the headliner is dry...

Thought bout taping up the prinsu logo from behind as I think some have done but again this is a new thing that just started a few weeks ago

Any thoughts? (I really don’t want to pull the whole thing off and resilicone, etc, because I’ve had zero issues with the rack nor have I ever had any water issues..)

2000 on mine. I have my Prinsu mounted on a short bed camper shell. ARB says the awning ends should not extend more than 27" past support brackets which limited my length in front plus I did not want the awning to stick past rear of truck.

Drilled 6 holes in the bottom of the box and used carriage bolts on 3 different cross bars to mount the box, toss a little silicone sealant around the bolt on the inside of the box and then a nylock nut.

Thinking about routing some 4 gal rotopax gas on my prinsu. Curious to see if anyone has done that with their rack and if so, did you use the prinsu piece that lets you bolt stuff in various locations or just use the rotopax one?

How is the powder coat on that? Pretty good? I assume it’s the 45 dollar piece on their website?

Powdercoat is fine. Holds up well. Mine sits outside year round and no chipping, peeling etc.

Any one have solutions to some rattling noise when the bars are loaded? It mainly happens when hitting bumps. In addition what in the max load each bar can handle...especially if mounted in the center? Thanks

The Cabrac has reduced my avg. MPG by 25%. I commute with my Taco. I chart my mileage. I'm considering getting a Harbor Freight trailer kit that can carry kayaks, bicycles, camping gear, and motorcycles, so I can mount up when needed.
