I also made a bumper to hold the front of the awning to the cabrac. This allows it to flex with the bed of the truck but not bounce around while driving. I just used 2 pieces of wood gluded together, drilled a hole for a T-screw to fit in flush and not move, glued a foam pad to it and covered it with fabric to look nice. The total width of it makes it snug between the awning and cabrac. I then secure the bumper with a couple wingnuts to
the cabrac and put a strap around the awning and cabrac

I added the thick fender washers under the brackets.

I just picked up a 16 ft Royalex canoe I'm restoring. Long story short, I'm a whitewater kayaker but with a 2yr old I needed a good flat water boat to get her on the water to do tame family trips.

To prevent sliding of the canoe on my Prinsu I want to add some sort of brackets on each side to prevent shifting (even with tie-downs in the front and rear) it will eventually do a bit of side to side shifting. It's not "going" anywhere but the shifting on the Prinsu bars will inevitably wear on the ash gunwales I'm in the process of restoring and refinishing.

Thule sells a kit of said brackets for like $150 but for something so simple I figure there's a much cheaper solution to put some brackets of this sort given the t-slots in the bars on my cabrac. Ideas? :)

Inside corner brackets from 8020 could prob do the job and would work well with the T slots.

Took some inspiration from the thread and built on it. Needed a side mount for my 60” hi lift. Went with the ARab universal awning mounts. Flipped them over, and added sections of 2” angle aluminum for rests to make it easier for one person to take off and put back on.

Whole thing ran less than $50.

This is a few months late, and I know I roll with a 4runner; however, this is the best Prinsu thread I've found, and I have some experience with kayaks on the rack. My bud and I go out to the lake every other weekend or so. I can easily load and unload my own kayak onto J style racks, and we just put his straight on the Prinsu. If his weren't so large, we would gladly get a second set of J style. Also, not shown in these pictures, but for my longer kayaks, we carefully ratchet strap and tie the ends of each to tow-hooks or my hitch step.

    I've uploaded a few pics:

1 - My Ocean Kayaks Prowler 13 (something like 13.5' length, about 40lbs). If I had more than one, I could easily put two...maybe even three on there with a J style kayak carrier. These tighten up right around the bars and are very secure, but I need to replace them with some that fold down.

2 - Took my Prowler and three other 8' kayaks out to the lake on the rack with little issue.

3 - Took my Prowler and a friend's nucanoe yak (thing is more like a kayacht...about the same length as my prowler but wider and twice as heavy)

    Hope this helps someone!

Not so much a cool way but very efficient and locked down. I added a 36” Thule board set. Easily could hold 3 snowboards on it. Flipping them upside down though like some folks do is difficult with the bindings rubbing the roof.

They have locking binders on them that fit over the standard Prinsu bars then twist to lock down

Trying to confirm how wide the rails can be on my cap and still allow the cap "Top Rack" to mount using the factory hardware that comes with it?

My mounting tracks are 42.25" apart (Center-to-Center) at their widest, no ARE didn't put the tracks on parallel.

    Thanks for the help.

The end cap unscrew and slide off the track and the mounting brackets slides in Easy. I have an ARE cap it worked find just put silicone down when reinstalling the end cap with nut and bolt.
