Whats going on luke. I have already ordered the roof rack but I was wondering what size awning you went with and if you are happy with it? trying to figure out which size is just enough. I like the price of the 4' one but I think the middle size would be ideal. Thanks man

I went with the middle size one, it extends over the bed by about 2 feet unsupported. I have not seen an issue with it.

I am looking at adding the 4' on to the back of the cap, but I am worried about what will happen when I need to load my kayaks on to the roof of the truck.

That would look good man. i think you would be good with the yaks as long as you didn't bounce them off the awning lol. Have you had any issues or complaints with the roof rack itself?

Yes it is, just don't use a spade bit to cut holes in the weather strip...make sure you use a 3/4" punch instead. Ask me how I know

The only part of the insturctions that I don't understand...
"Take the rubber weather stripping off the roof after you have marked the location of the mounting holes. Use an angle grinder or rotary tool to cut through the center steel rib of the strip. You will make two vertical cuts approximately 1/2” from the centerline of the planned hole."

There is a small metal cable that runs right through the middle of the of moulding. It makes Ithe hard to get a good clean hole unless you cut it 1st

Yep to both but since the holes are on the bottom it's pretty dry already.

What bars do you have I have the HD crossbars. I used 1/4-20 carriage bolts with silicon on the bolts rubber washers and then fender washers with a nylock nut. I put a piece of heat shrink over the bolt nut combo to protect anything in the box from rubbing on it

Anyone have pics of how they mounted a plano/pelican case on the cabrac? I've read a lot of people using ubolts, just would like to see a pic if someone doesn't mind throwing one up here.

2" square ubolts work the best. They wrap snug around the cross bars and then pop two holes in the case, bolt down and done.
