At the lowest setting for mine I'm ~1/4-1/2 off my roof.

I'm in the same boat. I've sent a couple question emails about the racks before I purchase and so far no responses. I'll try PMing him here base on the feedback others provided here.

Ok I will try that as well. I tried everything I could to get mine to touch the roof, but it wont adjust back that far. I have about a 1/2" gap and it makes a lot of wind noise. I may take the deflector off and put a slight bend in it on our press brake to get it to touch the roof. But I wanted to contact Prinsu first to see if there is another solution.

I know Zach is a little behind on orders right now b/c of some issues with some vendors he uses. So he may be trying to respond to other emails related to outstanding orders. He is generally pretty responsive, though he has a normal 9-5 so his responses often come in the evenings. Also a husband and father - so I'm sure his life is about as hectic as can be right now.

As to the wind noise, there is a weather strip that Zach sells on his website. This should fill that gap and rid most of the wind noise. As to whoever said their rack is "touching" the roof, I'm guessing you mean the weather stripping is touching the roof. Otherwise, you're going to rub your paint off pretty quickly.

Yes it's the weather stripping is touching my roof but if it wasn't there it would definitely be scratching my paint off. My deflector has a slight "bow" to it at the lowest setting so it's pretty snug.

Mine did come with the weather stripping and I have it installed. But there is still about a 1/2" gap. I will probly just remove it and add a slight bend on the press brake to get the rubber strip to seal against the roof.

Pics? I don't think I've heard of anyone having that big of a gap with the deflector on the lowest setting.

Looks like the 3rd gen rack sits a little further forward than my 2nd gen.

I tried moving the deflector cross bar down one more set of holes to the lowest point and it still had about the same gap.

It should be pretty close, within a 1/2". With the noise reducing edge trim the bulb touches the roof on mine when it is in the lowest setting.

This deflector is not at the lowest setting. If it is installed at the lowest setting, the deflector with the seal will just touch the center part of the windscreen.
Below is set at the lowest setting.

He said he tried the lowest setting a few posts up. My deflector is currently on the lowest setting but it did touch the roof in the middle as well.

Not sure how the gap could be the same if you lower it to the next mounting holes, which are about a 1/2" lower. Not calling you a liar, just baffles me how that could be possible.

Yep, I agree. If you move the fairing down to the lowest holes, you should be in good shape.
