Whatever you do, don't post up anything about 3 way midget sex and proper tailgate position for added leverage.

Not defensive. Focused. I have done TONS of research. I’m seeing two different opinions 50/50 on wheather to flush or just change 3-quarts and the pan.

How come an entire full flush and not just a top-up/check? Just curious. Did the dealer mention how much just a check and top up was? I would like them to check mine but it seems the only bait theyll take to actually look is if I say Ill pay for it. That being said I could check it myself I just dont feel like touching hot metal haha.

But anyway, I got a question for the thread:

When people mention the OME Coils, are those just nicer coils swapped into budget coilovers, ie. bilsteins or do higher end coilovers like Kings also need OME Coils? Just slightly confused since Ive seen build threads with mid-high end coilovers listed with OME coils.

If you had the tailgate like the ridgeline does you could swing it out, then when you are done you could store the midget in the in bed trunk.:anonymous:

I read it and I am confused. It mentions all the different parts of the tranny that get filled with fluid. Is it not recommending to change the whole thing, or is it?

Yeah, but then I'd have to own a Ridgeline. And that would mean I would probably not be into women anyway so....... :D (Not that there is anything wrong with that. Perfectly acceptable lifestyle choice.)

Fair enough, was only kidding. This is a great idea and I am looking forward to the questions and answers we get out of it. I'll be asking some I'm sure as well.

One time my Tacoma summoned two midgets and they wanted to have a threesome in the bed. It was the weirdest experience

Well, technically, a threesome with two midgets is still a twosome. A threesome with one midget and one normal sized woman is a 2.5 some. Don't worry. This new math confuses me too.

I think I’m starting to understand now. Maybe next week we can get into complex math, like Siamese twin midgets, or someone larger than usual.

I'm in the same boat, dog is back there majority of the time. I just use a heavy blanket folded over when she's back there. Then when I put the seats up I just fold the blanket

If you are thinking about getting a flush then you have not done tons of research. But what do I know... I only design high pressure hydrostatic transmission circuits for a living....

Listen, a "flush" will still not completely replace all the fluid. The only way to replace all the fluid is a full disassembly of the transmission. There are cavities and passages that will not get drained. Now, what a flush WILL do is stir up all the tiny wear particles and move them around. So, let's say a flush changes 90% of the fluid. Good. Except that means some of the trash that gets stirred up will still be in there. Maybe it works great after a flush and maybe it does not, because the crap moved from one place to another and now it stops up an orifice.
A drain won't replace 90%. But it also won't stir up any trash either and the chances of it working normally increase exponentially. You have to remember that, in a transmission (or brake circuit or really anything with fluid) the fluid is not just in there free flowing all around over everything constantly. There are passages where the fluid is static and only a pressure differential is changing.
Take our front disc brake circuit for example: Simple design right? You have a reservoir, pump and caliper pistons. Push the pedal, master cylinder pushes oil out to the caliper pistons and the brakes actuate. Question: Where does the oil go after it pushes the caliper piston? Answer: Nowhere! It stays in the cylinder! The truth is the oil that is in the caliper piston stays in the caliper piston. The brakes work off a pressure signal... basically a static column of oil in the brake line... that changes pressure when the pedal is pushed. The oil in there stays in there no matter what. So, in several years, when you change your brake fluid that oil in the piston is pretty much the exact same oil that was in that piston to start. The only way to get the oil out of that caliper piston is to disconnect the lines and tilt the caliper up to let all the oil run out. Otherwise, all the flushing and draining in the world won't replace it.
My point of comparing is this: The transmission has passages that work the same way. No oil is gonna get out of there unless you disassemble it and clean it out. However, flushing it can stir up the debris and let it settle in a place where it could do harm, because like the brake circuit, components have to move a bit, especially the control valve body.

To summarize, drain won't replace as much fluid but it also has a lot less potential to go tits up.

Again, do whatever you want. Your truck, your rules. I took the time to write this up because I don't think you have a clear picture of what happens in a flush versus a drain and refill. In the end, you can read all the reviews in the world and "trust" whatever people you want, but guess what... when shit hits the fan YOU are the one that is responsible, not the reviewers and not the shop that recommended it. Good luck. Oh, read this... he has no skin in the game and it is fairly accurate http://mdhmotors.com/transmission-flush-when-and-when-not-to-flush-transmission/

    I still would never flush.
