    Yes gears will absolutely help.

It doesn’t improve mpg at all, but you’ll see 6th way more often. I cruise in 6th with all the weight I have. 5.29 nitro for me.

I’d recommend 4.88 Revolution gears for you!

My 2016 AC OR. New 265/75/r16s! 98k miles and all I've had to do beside normal oil and tire changes is change the front brake pads a week ago. I owned two different 93 pickups with extended cab, and I'm pretty stuck on that style. It is purely aesthetic, but I don't like the look of the DC trucks. Plus the long bed is essential with a toolbox.

No lift yet. Thinking of a leveling kit, but haven't made it that far yet. Thanks!

I also now think the DCs look odd. I do like the DC with the long bed, but one would literally not fit in my garage as my AC clears by four inches on the front and back! Besides being a Toyota, the selling point to my Tacoma was the AC as I don't have need for the rear seats, and I like opening the AC rear doors and having that room, and with the long bed. A project that I'm going to do is to remove the AC's funny seats and put in a floor.

Yeah, I had to get mine with the 'jump seats' also. I don't know who could sit back there more than 15 minutes before it became torture other than little-bitty kids. When i ordered my truck, I wanted one that just had the big plastic panel in the back (No seats) but was told 'You can order it, but we can't give you any kind of timeline of IF you might get it' .. But the ones with the jump seats were being built and on their way, so I got that instead. I may still order the big plastic panel and take my seats out and install that.
At least the seats fold up & down and are mostly out of the way, so it's not that bad.

Hey, I like those rims! Are they Toyota or aftermarket? I don't really like the 'Everything must be black' style that seems so popular now. Your rims are kinda' 'modern' with still a touch of 'old school'. (VERY nice looking rig, BTW..) If the rims are aftermarket, do they still use the factory TPMS valve stems?
I've got the stock steel rims and while I could live with them, would like to get something a bit more fancy.
    Info on the rims please?

    Thanks Bruce!

Those are 16" genuine TRD wheels, original debut was the 2007 Trail Teams FJ.

They are also available in black, but like you said, everyone is doing that.

The OEM TPMS from my stock sport wheels worked no problem.

Here's a link where I got mine from:

Thanks Man! It was the end of the work day and downtown was empty. :) but you will catch me parking away from as many as possible. It also gives you more time to admire your rig as you leave a store and not get judged by your wife.

Was it necessary to add a lift in the back when you added the camper shell? Hoping to do a 2" spacer lift with no lift in the rear if it levels it out.

Depends on what you mean by necessary. Plenty of folks run a topper on the stock suspension. They only weigh a couple hundred lbs, but the stock leaf springs leave much to be desired, even without a camper shell, especially if you use your truck bed.

Thank you! I'm definitely gonna check this out. I like a little 'bling' with my rims. (And yes, I'm one of those guys who says 'White letters on the outside please') when buying new tires. Hey, I'm old school .. LOL!

trying to add a lift with avoiding the bro lean at all costs. Was going to put a block in the back to counter weight. Still up in the air about a 1” or 1.5” block once I get topper on

LOL! I get it. The two times I've actually allowed The Mrs. to go with me to the grocery store, she said 'Really? You're gonna park 100 yards away from the front door? In THE most furthest away spot? Really?' .. (New truck, sooooo ...)
I just told her 'You ... You didn't really have to come with me y'know .. '
The Wimmen just don't really get it. ;)

I have a cap and stock suspension, with a little bit of stuff in the back the truck sits level.
