If you don't want your liver failing someday, don't drink any alcohol.

    Poor argument.

How about a little moderation and proactive intent to keep your liver from failing. Dont get drunk every night, drink responsibly. Get it?

I don't want to be paying out the nose for fuel but I need a truck. I can drive a truck modestly and be knowledgeable about what causes poor mileage.

I’m convinced that mine would do it if it was still stock (except I would still have OVTune). I could even see hitting 25mpg on certain hyper-miling round trips.

As the truck is now with the flatbed and equipment, I have certain round trips that are well north of 20mpg. Average in spring-fall season is 18.5ish.

air dam is for sure, but the bug deflector can potentially save the windshield from lightweight rocks, $100 cost is like paying for windshield insurance.
I had my windshield replaced on my other Toyota vehicle with safety sense, the insurance company specified a 3rd party installer and I just couldn't get comfortable with the fact that they had to recalibrate the safety sensors. Maybe they did a good job, but I rather not to have a broken windshield to begin with.
If it was just pure glass, I wouldn't be so stressed about potentially cracking the windshield.

I’m getting 20-21 mpg with about equal driving on highways and backroads. I removed the front air dam and have a 2” level. My tires are only 31” AT’s so they’re not too heavy. I’d say I’m a moderate driver. I don’t give it hell off the line and I’m not driving like a grandpa. I do about 70-75 on the highway.

So it’s fair to say, you’d probably achieve that 23mpg if you were stock and drove a little more carefully.

I think as far as mileage goes, some of our trucks came from the factory just a little bit different... shrug

I have a friend who has a 2018 TRD, and I don’t think he ever got over 17mpg while it was still stock. And he really, really tried. He has a Yaris that he gets 45mpg with, so he has a mind and right foot for efficient driving.

    Or

if you’re an alcoholic you shouldn’t get upset when your liver eventually fails...a known side effect to drinking. Just like when you drive a truck you shouldn’t complain of lower mpg compared to other vehicles...a known deficiency with these type of vehicles.

No complaints that it is lower than a Corolla; I expect that, but if I can choose between 21mpg and 16mpg, I choose 21mpg.

I haven't had my 2021 TRD OR on a road trip but my 2018 would get 22 on the road at 60 mph. It won't do it at 75-80 mph. About the F150 hybrid...if I'm not mistaken the hybrid option is around $2500. It takes a lot of miles at a few mpg increase to recover that.

No mods, secondary roads 45-60 mph.
Steady highway cruise control at 70 will usually be 21.
I do have a light foot, you don't speed in a bright orange truck. ;)

The Prius is a bomb proof car, I'm sure even off road. But, it's no fun to drive, at all. You'll have every grandma and grandpa flipping you off trying to pass then every hot head absolutely losing their shit when you pass them. Other drivers do not like being passed by a Prius, hurts their pride and they will do whatever necessary to get in front of you.

was sleeping in a prius many years ago in a big sur parking lot, on highway 1, when some well dressed drunken frat boy tapped on my window at 3am in the morning. dont have a clue where he came from (zombie?)
