I'm at over 4 weeks here in Portland OR. I bought it from Beaverton, they checked it and said it was good. After a weekend camping trip I noticed my rear diff was caked in fluid, so I took it to Broadway and they said they needed to keep it and sent me to Enterprise. I started with a 1500 hemi dodge but didn't want to scratch it on Jeep trails- went through a frontier and f150 and finally settled on a Range Rover w a locker and heated leather. Miss my truck tho. Has anyone gotten a seal yet?

    In my Honda CRV loaner....

Today decided to take the dogs on a circle island tour. Kaneohe up the coast. Made stops at Banzai and Waimanalo Beach Park. Also made a stop at Ala Moana. Lots of dog fur and sand in the car now. Oh well. Today makes 24 days.

I was going to call my service person for a status but I kind of already know what I am going to hear. I will probably call late Monday afternoon and see if I get any sort of response with substance.

I normally would love to have a loaner to drive around because it would be something different. I would even make excuses why we needed to drive my wifes Lexus NX because it is such a fun car to drive, but after getting my Tacoma, I hardly drive her car anymore. I used to drive it on the weekends but since I got my truck 2 months ago, I drove her car like twice..... I much rather drive my Tacoma so having it at Servco for a month will definitely be torture! :annoyed: But it is what it is. I just hope it is not more then a month.... We will probably do a drive around the island also and hit the usual spots...Giovanis, Matsumotos...etc.

i was specifically told by enterprise rental that excessive dog hair
in their rental will have a cleaning fee added.

i put some towels on the chairs to minimize the dog hair
and i hosed down the truck and gave it a quick 5 min wash
when i returned it. just fyi

thanks. good looking out. i did lay a blanket and towel and luckily i own ankle biters with short fur so hopefully a 10 minute vacuum job will do. I guess i cant mess the loaner up out of spite.

And as I almost expected, i left a polite message with my service adviser asking for a status and no call back today.

EDIT: My Service advisor called me at 7:00 PM. The summary:
    • they dont know when the repair kits are coming in
    • it could be "a few more weeks"
    • i will NOT need to go to Enterprise to resign my agreement
    • Windward Servco has about 50 tacos all waiting for the same parts

    My own assumptions/conclusions
    • the issue with the part kits not arriving in a timely fashion is way above the heads of Servco
    • Servco wants to get rid of these trucks ASAP as they are taking up space
    • I was told i was 18th Tacoma to be dropped off at Windward Servco, co workers husband was around 9-10 and he hasnt been serviced yet. That said, I am thinking September that mines gets addressed
    • If you havent taken in your truck yet and you really need a truck and the weeping isnt bad, you may want to consider waiting this out. If you feel unsafe then by all means take it in and get that loaner

I got my truck back, but I was one of the first ones to have it there. They took it for about 6 weeks, I was pretty impatience. I called Servco Pacific, and literally called my Service Advisors and the Sales Manager every couple days. I made a huge stink about it. They also did a shit rush job too though, had oil all over the under carriage and wheel wells.

Just got a call from my service advisor that my diff is leaking and will need to be held until they receive the parts. I was told that it will be a minimum of 2 months, but closer to 3, since they have about 100 tacomas on their lot waiting for parts and they need to do them in order of when they came in. I am really bummed right now, but better to be safe then keep driving it and risk a serious accident. So diff recall wait on Oahu is 2-3 months.......

Oh damn. Im at day 30. My co-workers husband turned his over a week before me and got his back this past Monday 8/7. He waited 37 days. I asked him to look for mines he laughed and said there must be 50-60 alone in the back lot. Thats on point with what my SA told me a week ago--that there were about 50.

Im hoping that I get mines back soon but reading stuff like this im fully expecting to wait thru August.

    This is in Kaneohe.

Hope you get something bigger. Enterprise Kaneohe virtually is an empty lot with no more than 4-5 cars and they told me that the Taco recall is helping their "numbers" tremendously.

I am going to Enterprise today to see what they have when I pick it up. I need a bigger vehicle, so its going to be a challenge. Is that CRV in your pic the rental or one of your other vehicles? lol...maybe I should have gone to windward, since got only 50. Waipahu got over 100.

if windward got about 50 and waipahu 100...i can only imagine mapunapuna

yeah, i changed the image to the loaner. I miss my truck but i like the gas mileage. Kinda sad that im getting used to sitting lower and that I already know all the nuances of this mini SUV

i got lucky that it was relatively new and has enough space for my needs. My coworkers husband had a little bright red hyundai. It was pretty small and ugly--at the time he thought it was only going to be a few days. He stuck it out. Ironically, I pass by the Kaneohe Enterprise daily on the way home and that little red car is still sitting there un-rented since he returned it Monday.

Fight tooth and nail and get what you want/need. When I went to Enterprise the manager helping me told me flat out I could have anything on the lot and said that my toyota rental was "open"--defined to me as "pick anything". She said "i could even come back to choose" as they had a Nissan Rogue and Jeep Cherokee scheduled to come back (but i took the Honda).

they also told me that if I dont get a car I like, I can call to see what is in and they will gladly switch it out for me. At least they are being very helpful since they are all out of trucks and will be for awhile. I just dropped it off this morning and I already miss my truck. Three months from now, I may forget what it looks like, and be just like getting a new truck again...lol

one month in and i already forget what it looks like. security at my condo complex want me to register the CRV already. I had just installed a dash cam too...it did though give me the excuse to go back to windward to take it out and speak to the SA at the time.
