Mods, if this should be moved to the Oahu thread please move.

I got the letter today 7/3. I probably cannot call Servco tomorrow due to the holiday but will call on 7/5.

Im new to the boards and only been lurking for a year but my rear diff is definitely "weeping" a little. The notice looks pretty form/standard and the number to call is the regular 1-888 number.

Does anyone know if they do the inspection at all the Servco locations or am i going to be forced to go to Mapunapuna? I'm also curious if they are going to do a full inspection and fix. Reading the main 3rd gen board it sounds like hit or miss depending on your dealer.

On top of that I have my 10K service scheduled for this Friday at Windward Servco. For some reason I don't think they will be able to kill 2 birds with one stone visit.

Mahalo to anyone that has any info.

Wow that's crazy. Did they at least give you a loaner?

Apparently a lot of the notices went out and were received early this week. Thus, Servco is getting slammed. Hold time on the phone was 15-20 minutes easy.

So I had my 10K service already scheduled for Servco Windward on Friday. When I called this AM they would not be able to do the inspection plus my 10K service on the same day. They were able to give me a time slot on monday 7/10--at 8:00 AM to do both my 10K and inspection. They said I would get an answer by 6:00 PM. Im fortunate that my employer is good with allowing a lot of flexibility in my schedule.

My rear differential does have weeping spots at 7 and 4 o'clock. Albeit they are small but there is some seepage coming from somewhere.

That's odd that they give out nissans as loaners. I guess they just use anything off the used lot.
Hope you get your truck back soon!

I've gotten the letter in the mail as well. called about a month ago to have my truck serviced for my 20k and my appointment is the 18th of this month, told them about the recall before I got the letter. and also told them about the CPS recall and they said that once Toyota figures out a remedy then I would need to schedule an appointment for it.

Took my truck in this AM to Windward Servco. Got a call this afternoon that they got to hold it for 2-3 weeks for the parts. Mind you it was barely even a little weep on my RD.

Enterprise rent a car. Toyota really doesn't have much left to loan. I got a frontier too.

Enterprise does not have much to loan either. My long list of choices this afternoon was:

    • A small Fiat
    • Suburu Forrester
    • Jeep Cherokee
    • Honda CRV

    That was it.

I didnt have many choices at the Kaneohe and there is a waiting list for trucks. I ended up with the Honda CRV as there was only 2000 miles on it. I'm cool with it that I am not going to be putting miles on my Tacoma for a few weeks if not longer.

Enterprise told me they have had 16 recall loaners over the past month and on average loaners have been out 3-4 weeks. Im expecting around the same.

I had barely a little weeping spot on my RD. My service advisor explained to me that there was leakage and that the gasket and other parts would need to be replaced. Im surprised because the weep was really really small. To their credit through, they want to be safe though but it will leave me truckless for a few weeks.

I got offered a f150 or frontier. Only trucks they had. I need a truck for work, just want my truck back. Tired of this frontier already and its only been a week.

Do they still have it? They just took mine and gave me an Infiniti QX80. Gonna have to ask for a different rental if they're gonna keep it that long. This thing goes through gas like nobodies business.

The dealer has had my Tacoma for 2 1/2 months, still waiting for the parts to fix the rear differential. Toyota Corporate says that they still have no idea when my dealership will receive the parts for the fix. Has anyone had their recall repairs completed yet, and if so, how long did you wait?
