    Liquid tape is great stuff! I use it myself!

    For our stuff at work, we use either a special silicone that hardens (similar to automotive adhesive sealants) or a silicone non-conductive grease. The grease is used on connections that have to be disconnected from time to time. The stuff works great though, insulates and waterproofs our 25,000 volt connections flawlessly.

    Regular automotive silicone adhesive sealant, or even gasket maker, is non-conductive and completely liquid proof once it dries. Out here in AZ, even 3M's high-end Super 33 electrical tape goes to shit quickly in the heat. I'm still a die-hard fan of crimp connectors for my auto stuff, and if it's undercarriage, and I have to use crimps for some reason, I'll heat-shrink them and/or fill the wire ends with silicone sealant.
