By the way. Your headlights look straight up amazing. The best set I have ever seen done out of any set. And I've looked at lots of plainansimple sets. Yours tops everuthig

What is the fishing line method to attach a halo?
On a scale of 1-10 how hard is a normal projector retro with a halo?
Would you recommend professional paint, or rattlecan?
Are there any tips that you want to give to beginners?

If you're goin to install a halo on the front face of a shroud like datsik has, make sure you have the right size halo first, then when you place the halo on the front, I secure it with temporary 3M double sided tape. Then you drill tiny holes just big enough for fishing line(overkill but I used 12lb test line) on each side of the halo. I used 3 points of contact (one line on top and 2 more near the bottom) to form a triangle more or less.

I use krylon satin black and lightly sand all painted parts beforehand. Never had issues with rattlecan. All in all I'd rate this mod an 8 for beginners. I've done mine a couple times and I'd say it's still a solid 6 atleast for me. Best advice is don't rush, plan to work on these for about a week and try to give yourself a goal set for each day. Also buy a second set of OEM headlights. Don't bother with the depo or Anzo crap for a retro

Where did you drill the holes for the fishing line? What kind did you use? Plastic line, or fiber line?

You say buy a set of oem. Is there anything wrong with reusing my stock oem lights?

On my specific shroud I tried to drill as close to or underneath the halos. Obviously there has to be 2 holes on either side of each contact point. I used clear plastic since its hard to notice when the halos are on or off. Honestly I took a look over on ambiguous retro threads to get an idea how he did the fishing line.

Nothing wrong with that if you take em off and buy the cheap headlights to temporarily install while you work on the OEM ones

San Diego is my second home! Once again it was the first place I drove after competing my retrofit, but it all wasn't just for fun ;)

My fiancee and I drove to Seaport Village and walked to the exact spot I proposed on 4th of July last year:D
[IMG]The exact spot I proposed to this gorgeous woman by R1NZLER, on Flickr

When we got back I couldnt help it....
[IMG]Seaport Village, San Diego by R1NZLER, on Flickr

Afterwards we drove around and stopped for lunch at Anthonys Fish Grotto on the water

After lunch we made our way to Poway where Tyler of Pelfreybilt gave us a badass tour of the shop. I must say it was the most impressive tour I've ever been on! He unfortunately sold his truck that day in order to make room for the 2016:D but we gave him a ride to his house where we installed this...........

ONCE AGAIN! Huge thanks to Tyler and Satin of Pelfreybilt for helping me purchase and install by far my most favorite mod of the entire build! May the adventures of the Expedition PreRunner begin
