I totally understand. I didn't think the truck could get any better, but I really dig the extra LED strips.

I am trying to move to Tucson. Do you garage your truck? How is it in the summer (not the weather, but the truck)? Does the sun bake/fade the paint pretty bad?

I live in an area where the sun wrecks havoc on paint jobs, so I was wondering how your truck is handling the heat and the sun.

Those led strips look awesome! I was wondering if you were gonna do something subtle like that or do some sort of an outline on the shape of the headlight. Did you recently change out the lenses? I'm still trying to think of ideas for when I get the time and money on what I want to do with mine. The lenses are gonna need to be changed out within the next year or so, so I might as well change it up a bit. Was it hard to wire in those flex strips?

Haha thanks man, the new 2015 mustang gave me huge inspiration!

I have my truck under a parking cover in a complex, havent run into many problems with the sun yet but I have covered my truck in racing stripes from our wonderful AZ desert trails. In AZ, if you're truck isnt gunna be covered be prepared to keep it properly waxed every 2-3 months. If youre used to that kinda maitenance, my original paint never showed bad signs of sun damage.

Looks awesome, color couldn't be more perfect.
Funny, that picture with the fence and gate in the background looks to be on banner grade, hwy 78 just east of julian. I low-sided a motorcycle in that turn years ago and ended up in that same fence.

This retro was a complete do-over with all new housings thanks to my buddy Pat (noford08) :D The strips are not "flex" by any means. Getting the bend in them was a bit of a challenge and then installing them was even more of a pain, very time consuming.

Thanks Tyler! :) Thats exactly where it was haha i actually felt my tires wanting to come off the ground on those turns! Thats crazy it was the same area and fence tho haha, definitely missed a turn after we left your house but it was a fun scenic drive home. I need to go back to Ocotillo Wells now that ive seen it for myself!!!

Awesome, thanks! I usually garage my vehicles out here, but they still have minor issues at times because they are out in the open all day at work. Sounds like it is about the same.

And I don't care about pin striping or trail damage, it's expected (I've been on the trails out there and I would be amazed if you come out without a new design on the truck). I really only hate damage not done on the trails. Hahaha!

Right on. Maybe I was thinking of something different on the strips, I think the one's on eBay and Amazon as opposed to the retrofit source.

Word. Seem's like their always announcing a product that is better than previous versions. Even though at the time it was deemed the "latest"

i know halos are LED but that LED doesnt get hot enough to melt that fishing line? there is also really thin gauge wire that could be used in place of the line

I probably should have thought ahead for this, but after leaving the strips and halos on for about an hour, they never seemed to get hot enough to melt that line. You are right tho, the wire would have been the best choice, just couldn't find any in the small amount of time I had to work on these

    Thank you gentlemen!

Hopefully it holds up, I'm sure it will. 12 lb test line is pretty durable.

Very nice build btw, forgot to mention that in the other post. Was too busy wiping drool from the keyboard I guess
