What did you use to paint the shroud? That looks nice.

    Those look really nice!

I was thinking of doing my Apollo 3.0 shrouds with flat black and red. What paint did you use to paint those?

So these showed up for me today!! Opening the box I felt like a kid on Christmas day!

    I got the following....

    Morimoto Mini H1 6.0 Projectors

    Morimoto 3Five Ballasts

    3Five 6000k HID bulbs

    Apollo 3.0 shrouds

    H4 harness

    Amber halos
100mm for inside the shrouds and 80mm for around the lens on top of the shrouds.

So I know many of you have did this retro before, so any tips or advice that you folks can give me would be greatly appreciated!

Based on what I have read in this very lengthy thread, I will need to drill a hole in the shroud for the halos that sit on the face, secured with wire. And for the halos inside the shroud i should use an epoxy like JB weld to secure them. I am wondering what primer I should use to paint the shrouds and reflectors before I paint them with a black high heat paint?

Also the Apollo 3.0 shrouds look quite large, will I need to do much (if any) trimming on them to have them fit the reflector in my 2013?

Please help a newbie guy out!!

    thanks!

    Toby

I'm getting close to buying, just need to work some more OT. Does anyone know if Apollo 1, 2 and 3 are the same level of easiness to install for a Mini D2S Stage III? I have a 2014 tacoma. Thanks.

I may take part in the near future but not sure what to get for a 1st gen. Are all the listed kits compatible?

From the baking until the reassembly, how long did it take you?

And no you couldn't because those use an H4 base and the H1s use an H1 base

The led are designed to go in a halogen reflector not a projector. So I am willing to say output would be shit to say the least. Focal point would be all wrong.

Need some inputs. I have apollo 3.0 with led halo rings inside/behind the shrouds. Today, I noticed that some of the leds are burnt on one side. My shrouds are jb welded onto the projectors.

    1) Do these halos have warranty?
    2) How do I come about replacing the halos? Do I grind the shroud off and buy new shrouds?
    3) Or would it be easier if I somehow take these shrouds off, buy new ones if they are destroyed, and put halos on the outside just in case something like this happens again?

Edit: Saw the warranty part. 5 years

Yes they are warrantied. They should be able to get you a new halo and shroud. Try messing with the connector and the wires. I had the same issue but my halo was on the front of my Apollo 3.0 shroud
