I just want to say great service from TRS! Had a problem with the cyber Monday sale and they resolved the issue right away! Fast shipping and can't wait to get it all put together. Now to decide if I want to black out my headlights or color match... hmmm

I haven't seen colormatched ones on first gens but probably wouldn't look as good as it does on a 2nd gen. I have extra lunar mist paint so I may try it? And if it looks bad I'll black it! What ever I do the housing, I'll do the shroud because I don't like the look of an eyeball.

Did you use oven cleaner to get rid of the chrome?

Nope just wiped it down good and I think that was it. Then used high temp paint

U can use steel wool on the chrome, itll make it better for the paint to grab. And ill recommend to paint the reflector black and the shroud with a different color of ur liking. that would look better. Just my two cents.

Oven cleaner and a red scuff pad will take the chrome right off. The red scuff pad preps it for primer too

Did the oven cleaner have any adverse affects on the stock sealant?

Not sure. I removed all of it and redid It to be sure they sealed properly. The few hours spent removing all of it was worth knowing they wouldn't leak.

Anyone have any problems with their XB55 computers not sending power to the bulbs? I have power coming from the main ballast but nothing coming out the igniter side. On either of them

Note: the high beam worked because I heard it clicking but the bulbs did not ignite still

Wish I would have known/thought of that. I would have ordered everything else on the Thanksgiving sale and picked up the brackets when they were available.... :(

I see the RGB demon eyes are much cheaper now. Does that mean there is something better on the horizon to replace them?

Thanks! From the receipt, I have to send the old 55 ballasts and the bulb igniter wires together?

Anyone have a great explanation for mounting/epoxying the shroud over the projector? Should I put epoxy on the outside rim of the projector?

Trying to get this done by tomorrow night, don't have backup lights.

I put JB Weld on the spots where the clips of the shroud met the projector and it worked out fine for me.

The Apollo 3 does not have any clips that meet the shroud on the H1 from what I can see. The only place it meets is at the lip of the shroud and outer lip of the H1.

I assume I must epoxy right there?

Pretty sure I read that you don't 'need' a centric ring for certain shrouds/projectors etc. Additionally, my complete kit did not come with the centric rings. The Apollo 3 shrouds do slide on snuggly over the projectors.

I think I'm going to put epoxy on the outside edge of the projectors and then slide on the shrouds, although this seems ballsy and scary. Any feedback would be excellent!!

My Apollo 3s are JB Welded to my mini D2S's.

They fit pretty snug but I hated the idea of them popping of and having to take the lights back apart to fix it. Better safe than sorry.
