yeah, with at least the 01-04 because of the depth of the headlight the shrouds are pretty long in the back (to cover the projector) just dremelling and contouring them to the headlight was a little bit of a process. But now I know how much to cut off exactly next time.
At the retrofit source they have diagrams and everything you need for each piece you buy. No splicing as well, it is all plug in play. However I believe the halos need to be spliced into the day time running lights but I'm gonna worry about that tomorrow when it is light

Not sure if I'd have the same issue, I have a 12. I'm still on the fence in regards to the halos, I was thinking of going with the basic kit. You might be inspiring me to say F*** it and figure it out as I go.

I like the halos because it adds a class of coolness and it's kind of needed with the Panamera shrouds to make it looks sweet.

Yup, I just rolled with the punches. Same with my front end conversion.

I was thinking Apollo 2 or 3, but the way you setup the Panorama looks great.

Also, did you paint the bowl and shroud or leave them chrome? I'm wanting to paint them black or Grey to blend into the truck better.

Thanks! I like how Tron like it is

I painted my bowl and shroud colormatched lunar mist silver. Scratched the surface with a pad then sprayed primer and paint. Should've sanded though or waited a day before messing around with it all as I scratched many things.
I'll get a better picture tomorrow on my truck!
I kinda wish I did black because the shroud doesn't stand out so much but might look good once everything on my truck is colormatched.

To be honest, I was going for the basic options due to cost, but it does look awesome lit up. Is it rigged the light with the running lights or just headlights?
I'm thinking black bowl with Grey shroud, that way there is still a little contrast.

Is adding the halos were the 100mm and 110mm numbers come into play? Didn't pay much attention to them before since I wasn't planning on buying them.

TBH I didn't buy the moriomoto halos as they were pretty pricey, so I took a chance on some USA made ebay ones and got them for 10-20 bucks a pair. They may burn out quicker maybe but still couldn't afford the morimotos. I also went with the cheap projector kit on TRS. The $135 one. To keep my cost low since I am not a headlight nerd and just wanted something better than stock and these are way better than stock!

And yes that is where the mm numbers come into play. Looking back on some these pages in this thread you can see what sizes people used for the best look as well, especially for the Apollos.

So my headlights are working great, but when I turn on my brights the headlight fuse blows every time. Checked all the grounds and everything is peachy. The oem fuse in the fuse box is a 10a, should I up it? I dont want to do any damage however

You may have been smart with trying to save money and buy cheaper halos. I bought Morimoto everything, and after a few times of mocking everything up, just as I was about to start and assemble them a friend pointed out that a few LEDs on my 100mm halos don't illuminate. I've messaged @TRSAndrew and @TRSJimmy multiple times over the past month about getting replacements and haven't heard anything back yet. I bought the whole kit and caboodle from them because of their strong presents on Tacoma world and customer service, not sure where that is now...

Here is a photo, I tried to get my camera to focus enough to capture it.

Ah man that sucks! Yeah I've seen many morimoto halos burn out but probably because many people have them and rather say their expensive ones burned out rather than a $10 eBay pair.

I haven't had much help here but have had great customer service by actually calling or emailing the company. I attached pictures and whatnot And always solve my problems

no, i know i need to email them but it started off as me just reaching out to them because it sucked that the halos either burnt out or were never lit from the get go, I mean they maybe have about five minutes of runtime altogether.. I hate making returns/Warranties, I know TRS is a good/reputable company and will take care of me, but it would've been nice to talk with one of them before starting the warranty process.

@WildLand What size halo did you buy? And are the shrouds the switch backs or regular?

    Thanks.

I bought a 120mm for the back and 80mm for the front. The shrouds are just the regular.

If I would do it again I'd get the switchback shrouds and a switch back halo for the front. The 120mm halos for morimoto are like $120 so the shrouds with switchbacks would be a lot cheaper

    p.s. welcome to le tacomaworld!
