Not really. A ‘cross’ would mean crossover which would imply a unibody and obviously the Tacoma and 4Runner are not.

I really want to be all in, but the hybrid thing is a real turnoff.

Still may have to make the switch, especially with the more room and family roads trips we taken now, it will definitely be an easier vehicle to drive.

My 3rd gen Tacoma is paid off and I've been interested in picking up an SUV to augment it. Really been holding out on the new 4Runner, but don't know what that future looks like. The GX could also be a possibility, but cutting into an $80k vehicle would be difficult. I'm thinking the 4Runner is still coming, but without the hybrid so it doesn't compete as much with the new LC.

Truthfully it's the confidence in the hybrid offroad, abuse overtime, etc. Could that just be me catastrophizing, sure, but it still seems like a very new concept that hasn't been tested for longevity like a non-hybrid.

I can understand that. In a truck like this it's not been tested long term. In other Toyota's it's a proven tech since 1997. If I"m going to trust a hybrid truck I'd go with Toyota first. But good points.

I really wanted a 3rd row, still beats the room of my truck

For 2024, the Land Cruiser will be offered in seven colors; a pair of two-tone paint options will also be available. Don't look for a third row: Every Land Cruiser seats five.

I am hoping that the prices on 200 series start dropping to more reasonable prices. Low $30s or under 100k miles no rust …..maybe I am just dreaming lol

For me it’s not being able to repair it myself. I despise going to the dealer and do all of my own maintenance and repairs. Toyota’s service departments are going to make a killing off of all of these complex drivetrains they are putting in all of their new vehicles.

That’s the point. They want to force you to bring the vehicle to the dealer for service.

But this new Land Cruiser looks awesome.

I’ve heard that dealers already make more off of service than sales. They should sell us the vehicle cheaper since they are going to screw us over on service anyways. :D

Have spun wrenches on my own vehicles all my life. My 3rd Gen is the first I haven’t, little weird at first. Gotta say rather enjoy having the dealer do it. Beyond over wrenching on things. Always try and get every last dime of use out of my vehicles, over that too. Going to trade-in when the warranty is up. Not getting any younger, having something fresh every 5 years sounds good to me.

I was talking about the 3rd row which I just found out that it won’t be available here in the states.

Random stuff. Oh! and converted to non ADD 4x4.
As I have stated 100’s of times. The 22RE, 4AG, 5VZ, 1UR, 3UR and the legendary 1GR (feel free to add to the list) where the “nEw AnD UntEstEd” “unrealible” :duh:technologies. If a company know a thing or two when it comes to hybrids, forced induction and power train capable of delivering the goods is Toyota. Does the first hybrid on the market back in 1997 ring a bell? Grow up. experience it. if you like it, cool. If you don’t, then awesome you still have options. Cheers and have a wonderful weekend :fistbump:

Good points. Some are resistant to change.
