I'll take the base standard and I'm set. I don't need anything else.

That is of course Toyota didn’t do anything wacky and made the Lexus ohh ever so slightly bigger like the did the Double Cab vs the Access Cab 1st Gen Tundra. They can be sneaky like that.

They certainly knocked it out of the park, don’t think I could convince the wife that she “needs” one though. Especially when she sees the price. Lol!

I was thinking exactly the same thing how one was imperceptibly bigger than the other and I was like why the hell would they go through the trouble of doing that?

Telling ya, some of the stuff Toyota does baffles me. Just look at the headlights, the DC (on the right) they are a smidge bigger.

I agree. The base seems pretty good as long as it’s a little bigger inside than the 4Runner. If not you might as well just save $10-20K and get the 4Runner. Put a LandCruiser badge on it if it makes you feel better.

Yes. The Tundra was already smaller than American trucks of the time, being like 7/8, so then they decided to make the double cab 7.5/8. My dad had one of the first double cabs, and we had this huge argument whether it was bigger or not, and actually had to settle it with a tape measure.

    That last part, lol!

Do think the 1st Gen Tundra was about the perfect sized truck, new Tacoma is about that size now. Soooo, even with some nit picky things, might a-ok. :)

On paper it’s more complex, but their track record says it’s nothing to worry about.

I reached out to Fred Haas Toyota world (largest dealer in Houston area) and his reply today was...

All we know so far is that we are about to get allocated our first allotment at the end of this month or beginning of next.

Once we get that we’ll know more as far as pricing, etc.

I kinda want to downsize from the Tundra but that non roll down back window might be a deal killer for me.. May wait it out for new 4runner

I wouldn’t be surprised if the new 4Runner doesn’t have an operable rear window. Gotta maximize profits for Toyota.

I see a few dealers in MA have LandCruisers listed for sale. Not sure if they are actually on the lot yet. They are all at $77+K though. :(

Dunno, roll down rear is problematic because the eddy that forms behind a vehicle, just sucks grime and deicer into the mechanism, (for those of us who live in the rust belt)

Ours is close to 7 years old and no issues yet. We don’t use the rear window too often though.

The one in my old 4Runner, the mechanism rusted out, plus the glass was scratched to hell, since I like to run FS roads often. It is nice for air flow and if you have to haul anything long, but I can live with out one.

Thought ambo doors were the answer until I bought a Trooper, they suck for hauling anything that sticks out the back. That is if you actually use these Sports Utility Vehicles for Utility duties…

I think 77k would be close for the First Edition trim.

Maybe that’s what they all are. There are no photos of the actual vehicle’s on the listings.
