It’s the 80 series and LX450 all over again. I can dig it.

    saw this over on landcruisergaf.com

wonder if this is accurate - no V6 in the new 250 series Land Cruiser we're getting? and wonder what that means for the 6th gen 4runner....

2TR-FE, a 2.7-liter inline-four. This will not be offered in the U.S. Land Cruiser.

    1GD-FTV
-- an inline-four turbo-diesel. In various applications, this engine has seen anywhere from 178 hp and 332 lb-ft of torque to 221 hp and 410 lb-ft. We are unlikely to see this offered in the U.S. Land Cruiser.

    "L4T" T24A-FTS 2.4-liter turbocharged inline-four
. This engine has been in production since 2021 will also be used in the new 2024 Tacoma and Grand Highlander. This will be a hybrid application here in the U.S., like it is in the new 2024 Tacoma, which means it has the potential to feature up to 326 hp and 465 lb-ft (as it does in the 2024 Tacoma TRD Pro).

Interesting but I'm guessing they will use the same engines the Sequoia uses. Plenty of teases from Toyota to come I think.

That would be great. Biggest downside to the Sequoia is that 3rd row. Wonder how it’ll turn out in the LC

All I want to know will the new LC be on the TMNA form? Old one wasn't.
If the new one is, I am buying the 2nd or 3rd year production of the new LC.

So it's a different interior from the GX. 4WD selector is arranged differently even though the functions are the same.

Yeh this tells me a wider center console maybe and more utilitarian look inside and out to differentiate it from the GX

Silver plastic is probably more durable than stitched leather on the center console

Note the LC selector is 3-position: H4 full-time, H4 center diff locked, L4 center diff locked. This frees up a blank spot where the center diff lock button is on the GX. Maybe the LC will have an available front locker in foreign markets like the J300 LC does.

I'm wondering if the front locker could be available on an upper trim. But I'm thinking they may stick with one trim and option out inside and outside bling and powertrain goodies.

The Bronco and Colorado both can be optioned with a front locker with IFS, so maybe the market timing will support it as well. It would be feasible technically as the front diff should be the same as the J300:

The reason overlanding is big over there - you sold your house to buy the 4x4. But it comes with a front locker, so maybe it's worth it? :notsure:

I want one. Rear locker would be standard for the LC?
