It isn’t too terrible, not fond of the grill…can’t wait for the giant grill fad to go away. Seems like most Toyotas have gawd awful grills, ya know?

Little bit of a lift and tire/wheel combo with decent amount of sidewall would be ok for running forest roads. Probably see more dirt under my thumb than the majority of 4Runners sold… :D

I really don't understand the logic in having the new LC and 4R being so incredibly similar (same wheelbase, same engine options, similar exterior dimensions, slightly better suspension on the 4R, etc, etc), especially with the new GX falling into a similar space. If only one of them had a solid front axle and/or a removable top...

Also: Do people actually use the third-row seats in the newer 4Rs? That can't possibly be comfortable for anybody aside from small children and pets, right?

It is like them having a bunch of CUVs that a darn near exactly the same, Corolla Cross, RAV4, Venza.

Don’t understand their redundant logic on some things, then completely miss design aspects on others.

Yeah 3rd Row in 4Runner seems pointless. Would have loved to see a stripped down SR utility version that had usable cargo space. What we used our Trooper for, hauling stuff that we didn’t want to get damaged by the elements in my truck. Used the rear passenger doors for easy access rather than actually hauling people.

In Europe…can’t remember the brand, it was either Ford or Toyota, the factory offers a wagon with no rear seats and it is built for hauling packages. Made a lot of sense for those of us who haul more stuff than people.

Very nice. Dunno…nothing more than a tarted up action mom vehicle when it comes down to it. Just see me destroying that interior.

Broken record, but rather have a 70 series Troop Carrier, with that massive usable cargo area. Exposed metal, rubber flooring, meant to be used and abused, no bullshit. Alas it will never happen.

Don’t know about you, but I am feeling underwhelmed by Toyota USA’s over doing… :D

Well it is what it is. If I had a choice between the 80 series or 70 series or the 250 series I"d pick a 70 series first, actually a 73 and then 80 then this. But I think this is a definite home run.

It is definitely cool and all, but certainly not a work horse. Just another status quo run around town vehicle. It is odd, their target market is the outdoorsy type, but with luxury interiors, just see it getting screwed up real quick under anyone who uses it as intended.

My perspective is probably different than most since I carry around chainsaws and hand tools. Would have no issue tossing that in a 70s Trooper, but the LC250 would be ruined right quick. What is the best way to get bar oil out of carpet anyway? ;) :D

I think it will be used for running around, like all SUV owners do in America. But it's setup to be the best off-roader in the Toyota lineup with the 4Runner 2nd. I'd feel more confidence taking this off road than a 4runner.

The back seat leg room looks tight like the new 4Runner. WTF is Toyota thinking? A Camry has more space than that.

Still will fit a tall person in the back. Get shorter friends and family.

Yep pretty much. Majority of SUVs will never see dirt. Dunno…it is nice and all, but the more I look at it, the more I yawn. Doesn’t really excite me, of course not much in today’s market does.

Yeh I get that. I like how subtle it is even with the tech inside. The 4runner has a a lot going on.

You can “fit” a tall person in the back of a Mustang too but the point of an SUV is to move people and cargo. If you can’t fit kids and a backpack on the floor in front of them then there is a problem.

Do think it looks great, and I do like it. 4R like the 4G Taco are a bit busy. Would love to see a stripped down true utility trim, but that will never happen, the market for that (people like me) is very small.

A square body Suburban is more to my liking, could do a lot with one of those for the prices these new vehicles are going for. Probably the closest thing I can get to a 70 Troopy.

Loads of cargo and people room.

    IMG_5773.jpg

Definitely wouldn’t mind tossing chainsaws and dirty hand tools in there.
